AI startups and AI-adjacent companies raised over $1.6 billion this week across nuclear energy, financial automation, fintech, and enterprise AI. From X-energy’s massive $700 million nuclear round powering AI data centers to Revolut’s $75 billion valuation, capital continued flowing to companies building both the energy infrastructure for AI and the intelligent automation transforming traditional industries.

X-energy Closes $700 Million Series D for Advanced Nuclear Reactors

Fund Raised: $700 million
Stage: Series D
Total Funding: $1.8 billion
Investors: Jane Street (lead), ARK Invest, Galvanize, Hood River Capital Management, Point72, Reaves Asset Management, XTX Ventures, Ares Management funds, Corner Capital, Emerson Collective, NGP, Segra Capital Management

Rockville, Maryland-based X-energy announced it closed an oversubscribed $700 million Series D round led by Jane Street, bringing total capital raised to $1.8 billion. The advanced nuclear reactor developer secured funding from more than ten institutional investors in one of the largest financing rounds for a nuclear energy startup.

The deal comes less than a year after X-energy expanded its Series C from $500 million to $700 million in late 2024, with Amazon’s Climate Pledge Fund participating. That investment was tied to a partnership developing more than 5 gigawatts of power generation capacity—energy critical for powering the massive data centers required by AI workloads.

Founded by Kam Ghaffarian (Executive Chairman) and led by CEO J. Clay Sell, X-energy develops the Xe-100, a fourth-generation high-temperature, gas-cooled small modular reactor (SMR) capable of producing 80 megawatts of power over its 60-year operational life. The company’s innovative approach addresses AI’s emerging energy bottleneck.

X-energy is currently constructing a 214,812 square-foot TRISO-X fuel fabrication facility in Oak Ridge capable of producing 700,000 fuel pebbles annually—enough to fuel 11 Xe-100 reactors. When fully operational, the plant will employ 500 people.

The funding will support supply chain expansion, manufacturing scale-up, and commercial project delivery. With nuclear power emerging as a critical solution for AI’s massive energy demands, X-energy is positioned at the intersection of the energy transition and the AI infrastructure buildout.

Revolut Hits $75 Billion Valuation in Secondary Share Sale

Valuation: $75 billion
Transaction Type: Secondary share sale
Previous Valuation: $45 billion (2024)
Investors: Coatue (lead), Greenoaks, Dragoneer, Fidelity Management & Research Company, Andreessen Horowitz, Franklin Templeton, T. Rowe Price Associates, NVentures (NVIDIA’s VC arm)

London-based Revolut announced it completed a secondary share sale valuing the global fintech leader at $75 billion, a stunning 67% increase from its $45 billion valuation just one year ago. The transaction positions Revolut as Europe’s most valuable private technology company and among the world’s most valuable private financial services firms.

Led by CEO and co-founder Nik Storonsky, Revolut has grown from a simple money transfer app launched in 2015 to a full-service financial super-app serving over 65 million customers worldwide. The company offers multi-currency accounts, payment and transfer services, cryptocurrency products, stock trading, commodities, insurance, and increasingly traditional banking services.

2024-2025 financial performance:

2024 revenue: $4.0 billion (up 72% YoY)

2024 profit before tax: $1.4 billion (up 149% YoY)

2024 net profit: $1.0 billion (£790 million)

Customer base: 65+ million retail customers globally

Revolut Business: $1 billion annualized revenue achieved in 2025

Wealth division revenue: $647 million in 2024 (up 298% from $158M in 2023)

The secondary sale allowed current employees to liquidate shares, marking the fifth time Revolut has enabled employee share sales. The company operates one of the most liquid employee equity programs among private companies, reflecting Storonsky’s commitment to sharing success with the team that built the platform.

NVIDIA’s participation through NVentures signals deepening collaboration between Revolut and the chip giant in artificial intelligence applications. As Revolut expands its product suite and global footprint, AI powers everything from fraud detection and risk assessment to personalized financial recommendations and automated support.

The valuation now exceeds several established European banks including Barclays, Société Générale, and Deutsche Bank—despite Revolut operating entirely without physical branches. This reflects investor confidence that digital-native banking infrastructure will eventually displace legacy systems.

Model ML Raises $75 Million Series A for Investment Banking Automation

Fund Raised: $75 million
Stage: Series A
Total Funding: $87 million
Investors: FT Partners (lead), Y Combinator, QED Investors, 13Books Capital, Latitude, LocalGlobe

New York and London-based Model ML announced it raised $75 million in a Series A round led by FT Partners, one of the largest fintech Series A rounds in history. The company emerged from stealth just twelve months ago and raised a $12 million seed round led by Y Combinator and LocalGlobe in February 2025.

Founded by brothers Chaz Englander (CEO) and Arnie Englander (CTO), Model ML builds AI workflow automation specifically for financial services. The platform enables banks, asset managers, and consulting firms to automate creation of client-ready pitch decks, investment memos, due diligence reports, and financial models—documents that traditionally require armies of junior analysts working weekends.

Model ML’s AI agents don’t just retrieve data or generate chat responses. They interpret complex schemas, reason across multiple data sources, write code to extract and transform information, and generate finished, branded outputs matching institutional formatting standards. The system integrates with Salesforce, Google Workspace, PitchBook, Crunchbase, and internal data systems.

The company deploys a single-tenant architecture where each institution runs Model ML inside its own Azure environment. This addresses the banking industry’s stringent data residency, privacy, and compliance requirements—critical for financial institutions handling sensitive M&A data, investment strategies, and client information.

Model ML recently tested its verification workflow against consultants from McKinsey and Bain on real Word and PowerPoint deliverables. The consultants required over an hour to complete verification. Model ML finished in under three minutes while catching more errors. The system wasn’t just 20x faster—it delivered higher accuracy.

Other Notable Rounds

Tenzai Raises $75 Million Seed for AI-Powered Security Testing

Fund Raised: $75 million
Stage: Seed

Tenzai secured $75 million in seed funding to build AI-driven “hacker” agents for continuous offensive security testing. The company’s autonomous security agents continuously probe enterprise defenses, identifying vulnerabilities before malicious actors can exploit them. This represents one of the largest seed rounds of November 2025.

Phrontline Biopharma Closes $60 Million Pre-A+

Fund Raised: $60 million
Stage: Pre-A+

Phrontline Biopharma raised $60 million to advance bispecific antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) cancer therapeutics across China and the United States. The company leverages AI for drug discovery, accelerating development of targeted cancer treatments.

Overstory Raises $43 Million Series B

Fund Raised: $43 million
Stage: Series B

Overstory secured $43 million to expand its AI wildfire and vegetation risk platform for electric utilities. The company uses geospatial AI and satellite imagery to predict wildfire risks, helping utilities prevent catastrophic fires through proactive vegetation management. Overstory’s technology has become critical infrastructure as climate change intensifies wildfire seasons.

Clover Security Raises $36 Million Series A

Fund Raised: $36 million
Stage: Series A

Clover Security raised $36 million to embed AI security agents into developer workflows and product lifecycles. The platform provides proactive security analysis integrated directly into development environments, shifting security left in the software development process rather than treating it as a late-stage gate.

DualBird Closes $25 Million Combined Seed and Series A

Fund Raised: $25 million
Stage: Seed + Series A

DualBird raised $25 million to deliver hardware-grade cloud acceleration purely through software. The company’s technology enables performance improvements without expensive hardware upgrades, addressing growing demand for compute efficiency as AI workloads expand.

Tidalwave Secures $22 Million Series A

Fund Raised: $22 million
Stage: Series A

San Francisco-based Tidalwave raised $22 million to accelerate AI mortgage automation. The platform deploys autonomous AI agents to handle end-to-end mortgage tasks including income verification and underwriting, targeting massive reduction in the industry-standard 43-day loan closing times. Tidalwave aims to process 200,000+ loans annually by 2026, representing approximately 4% of projected U.S. mortgage originations.

Vijil Raises $17 Million Series A

Fund Raised: $17 million
Stage: Series A
Total Funding: $23 million

Vijil secured $17 million to provide testing, monitoring, and guardrails for enterprise AI agents. As organizations deploy autonomous AI systems at scale, Vijil enables validation before and after deployment by synthesizing customer-specific test suites and supporting open-source foundation models. The company addresses the emerging need for AI governance infrastructure.

Flux Marine Raises $15 Million Series A

Fund Raised: $15 million
Total Funding: $30+ million since 2020
Investors: Existing investors, customers, Collide Capital (new)

Bristol, Rhode Island-based Flux Marine closed $15 million to scale production of electric outboard motors. Led by CEO Ben Sorkin, the company commercialized a 115-horsepower electric outboard engine and modular battery system that integrates with various boat hulls, bringing electrification to marine propulsion.

The week’s funding activity reinforces a broader pattern: infrastructure for AI (energy, compute) and AI-enabled automation of complex professional work dominate late-2025 investment. Companies building physical infrastructure (nuclear reactors, data centers) or automating high-stakes knowledge work (banking, consulting, legal) attract premium valuations and top-tier investors.

The geographic distribution remains U.S. and Europe-focused, with X-energy in Maryland, Model ML spanning New York/London, and Revolut headquartered in London while expanding globally. However, these companies all operate globally—Model ML serves banks across continents, Revolut targets 100 countries, and X-energy’s SMRs will power data centers worldwide.

As we approach 2026, expect continued concentration of capital in proven companies addressing massive markets with clear paths to profitability. The AI funding boom isn’t slowing—it’s maturing, with investors favoring infrastructure, automation, and sustainable business models over experimental research projects.

Lambda Raises $1.5 Billion Series E at Multi-Billion Dollar Valuation

Fund Raised: $1.5 billion
Stage: Series E
Total Funding: $3+ billion
Investors: TWG Global (lead), US Innovative Technology Fund (USIT), Nvidia

San Francisco-based Lambda announced it raised $1.5 billion in a Series E round led by TWG Global, a relatively new $40 billion investment firm formed by billionaires Thomas Tull (former owner of Legendary Entertainment) and Mark Walter (Guggenheim Partners founder and CEO). The round far exceeded market whispers that Lambda was targeting “hundreds of millions” at a valuation above $4 billion.

TWG Global manages a diverse portfolio including Walter’s stakes in the Los Angeles Lakers and the new Cadillac F1 racing team. The firm also operates a $15 billion AI-focused fund anchored by Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala Capital. TWG previously invested in partnerships with Elon Musk’s xAI and Palantir to sell AI agents to enterprises.

Founded in 2012 by Stephen Balaban, Lambda operates multiple AI data centers across the United States. The company is a CoreWeave competitor, though it also sells “AI factories” to hyperscaler clouds. Earlier this month, Lambda announced a multibillion-dollar deal to supply Microsoft with AI infrastructure using tens of thousands of Nvidia GPUs, including the advanced GB300 NVL72 systems.

Platform capabilities:

AI environments called Superclusters provisioned with up to 165,000 graphics cards

Customer control over firewalls regulating Supercluster access and encryption keys

Individual instances available with up to eight GPUs for smaller workloads

Vertically integrated operations from power sourcing to GPU deployment

The Microsoft deal positions Lambda as a critical infrastructure partner for one of the world’s largest cloud providers. Microsoft already signed a similar multi-billion dollar agreement with CoreWeave in 2024 and became its largest client. OpenAI separately reached a $12 billion partnership with CoreWeave in March 2025.

Lambda completed a $480 million Series D round in February 2025 at approximately a $2.5 billion valuation. This new raise significantly exceeds those earlier expectations, though Lambda declined to comment on its current valuation. Market analysts had discussed a potential IPO, though no official plans have been announced.

The funding will support GPU purchases, expand Lambda Cloud services, and accelerate development of data center capacity. NVIDIA’s continued investment validates Lambda’s technical approach and ensures priority access to cutting-edge chips in a supply-constrained market.

Lambda’s massive raise addresses the AI industry’s emerging bottleneck—not chip supply, but energy availability. As traditional cloud providers hit power constraints and cities struggle to handle the electrical load AI models demand, Lambda’s infrastructure strategy positions it for the next wave of AI scaling.

Ramp Reaches $32 Billion Valuation with $300 Million Series E-4

Fund Raised: $300 million
Valuation: $32 billion
Total Funding: $2.3 billion
Investors: Lightspeed Venture Partners (lead), Founders Fund, D1 Capital, Coatue, GIC, Thrive Capital, Sutter Hill Ventures, Khosla Ventures, ICONIQ, Alpha Wave Global, Bessemer Venture Partners, Robinhood Ventures

New York-based Ramp announced Monday it raised $300 million led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, achieving a $32 billion valuation—a stunning 42% jump from the $22.5 billion valuation it reached just three months ago in July. This marks Ramp’s fourth funding round in 2025 alone, an extraordinary financing pace that reflects the company’s explosive growth trajectory.

The financing includes both a $300 million primary round and an employee tender offer. Roughly half of the equity raised will cover employee liquidity, with the tender portion handling additional employee needs. The round saw participation from nearly 90 institutional investors, including six new backers: Alpha Wave Global, Bessemer Venture Partners, Robinhood Ventures, 1789 Capital, Epicenter Capital, and Coral Capital.

2025 funding timeline:

March: $150 million secondary sale at $13 billion

June: $200 million Series E at $16 billion (Founders Fund lead)

July: $500 million Series E-2 at $22.5 billion (ICONIQ lead)

November: $300 million at $32 billion (Lightspeed lead)

In just eight months, Ramp’s valuation has increased 146%, from $13 billion to $32 billion. The company has raised $2.3 billion in total equity financing since its 2019 founding by CEO Eric Glyman and co-founder Karim Atiyeh.

Current metrics:

Revenue: Over $1 billion annualized (doubled from $500M twelve months ago)

Customers: 50,000+ organizations (doubled year-over-year)

Enterprise customers: 2,200+ spending $100K+ annually (133% YoY growth)

Annual purchase volume: $100+ billion powered through the platform

Free cash flow: Positive

Profitability growth: 153% year-over-year

The strong investor participation reflects Ramp’s transformation from corporate card provider into a comprehensive “autonomous finance” platform. The company combines corporate cards, expense management, bill payments, procurement, travel booking, treasury management, and automated bookkeeping with AI-powered intelligence.

In October 2025, Ramp’s AI systems made 26,146,619 automated decisions across over $10 billion in customer spend:

Policy agent: Prevented 511,157 out-of-policy transactions, saving $290,981,801

Treasury agent: Moved $5.5 million from idle cash to 4% yield investments

Fraud agent: Blocked a $49,000 AI-generated fake invoice

Travel agent: Optimized booking decisions for cost savings

Customer impact is measurable: companies switching to Ramp spend 5% less per year on average while growing revenue 12% faster—more than double the U.S. national average. The platform has saved customers $10 billion and 27.5 million hours since launch.

Notable customers include CBRE, Shopify, Anduril, Figma, Notion, Cursor, The Chicago Blackhawks, The University of Tennessee, and Vercel. Bret Taylor, Co-Founder and CEO of Sierra and Chairman of OpenAI, noted: “I don’t want anyone at Sierra spending time on expense reports or invoices. Ramp’s AI has automated entire categories of work that used to slow us down.”

Ramp represents a rare fintech success story during a challenging period for the sector. While most fintechs struggled with valuation cuts in 2023-2024, Ramp suffered a 28% down round in late 2023, became cash-flow positive, then rocketed past every previous high-water mark. The company’s AI-native approach delivers measurable ROI, enabling growth rates 10x faster than the median publicly traded SaaS company.

Function Health Raises $298 Million Series B to Become Healthcare AI Unicorn

Fund Raised: $298 million
Valuation: $2.5 billion
Stage: Series B
Total Funding: $350 million
Investors: Redpoint Ventures (lead), a16z, Aglaé Ventures, Battery Ventures, NFDG (Nat Friedman and Daniel Gross), Alumni Ventures, NBA athletes Allen Crabbe and Blake Griffin, Roku founder Anthony Wood

Austin-based Function Health (recently rebranded as just “Function”) closed a $298 million Series B round led by Redpoint Ventures on Wednesday, reaching a $2.5 billion valuation and unicorn status. The oversubscribed round brings total capital raised to $350 million for the company founded in 2022 with a mission to make preventive healthcare accessible to everyone.

Function combines comprehensive lab testing (100+ tests), advanced medical imaging, and AI-powered health insights in a single platform. Members pay $365 annually (reduced from $499) for access to lab tests at over 2,000 Quest Diagnostic locations nationwide, AI-driven health recommendations, and consultations with physicians when results warrant attention.

Since launching in 2023, Function has completed over 50 million lab tests. The company operates 75 dedicated locations with plans to expand to 200 by year-end. In May 2025, Function acquired Ezra to add advanced imaging capabilities, now offering 22-minute AI-powered full-body MRI scans for $499.

Platform capabilities:

100+ comprehensive lab tests covering metabolic health, cardiovascular markers, hormones, nutrients, and cancer screening

AI-powered analysis integrating lab results, medical research, and individual health data

Full-body MRI screening using FDA-cleared AI (detecting cancers, aneurysms, endometriosis, stroke signs)

Physician oversight with personalized health plans and lifestyle recommendations

Longitudinal tracking showing health changes over time

Alongside the funding announcement, Function unveiled Medical Intelligence Lab, a proprietary generative AI model trained by physicians to provide personalized health insights. The model analyzes users’ lab data, medical history, and the latest research to deliver evidence-based recommendations.

New AI features:

Private AI chat allowing members to query health data and receive personalized responses

Protocols translating complex health information into actionable steps

Integration with wearable devices and existing health records

Predictive analytics identifying health risks before they become acute problems

Function’s celebrity and athlete backing extends beyond NBA players. Co-founder Dr. Mark Hyman (a functional medicine pioneer) brings medical credibility, while investors like Roku founder Anthony Wood and participation from Nat Friedman and Daniel Gross’s NFDG fund signal strong conviction in healthcare AI’s potential.

The competitive landscape includes players like Neko Health (founded by Spotify’s Daniel Ek), InsideTracker, and Superpower. However, Function differentiates through device-agnostic design accepting data from any lab or wearable, comprehensive test panels beyond basic bloodwork, and AI integration throughout the experience.

Market traction validates the approach:

50+ million lab tests completed since 2023

75 operational locations (expanding to 200 by year-end)

2,000+ Quest Diagnostic partnerships enabling nationwide access

Reduced pricing from $499 to $365 annually to expand accessibility

The funding will accelerate AI model development, expand imaging locations, and scale member acquisition. Function is positioning preventive healthcare as a mainstream offering rather than a luxury service—a strategy reflected in the price reduction announced alongside the funding.

Function is democratizing longevity medicine and preventive healthcare. Traditional healthcare focuses on treating disease after it occurs. Function flips this model by combining comprehensive testing with AI-powered insights to identify and address health issues before they become serious. The $2.5 billion valuation reflects investor confidence that preventive, data-driven healthcare will become standard practice.

Genspark Becomes Unicorn with $275 Million Series B for Agentic AI

Fund Raised: $275 million
Valuation: $1.25 billion
Stage: Series B
Revenue: $50+ million annualized run rate (achieved in 5 months)
Investors: Emergence Capital Partners (lead), SBI Investment, LG Technology Ventures, Pavilion Capital, Uphonest Capital, plus all existing investors

Palo Alto-based Genspark raised $275 million in an oversubscribed Series B round Wednesday, achieving unicorn status at a $1.25 billion post-money valuation. Led by Emergence Capital (early backer of Salesforce, Zoom, and Box), the round included participation from global technology investors and all existing backers doubling down.

The company reached $50 million in annualized revenue run rate within just five months of launching its products—one of the fastest growth rates in the AI industry. Genspark previously raised $100 million in Series A earlier this year at approximately a $530 million valuation, reported Reuters in February.

Founded by industry veterans from Microsoft, Google, Meta, YouTube, and Pinterest, Genspark is pioneering “agentic AI” that autonomously completes complex business work from start to finish. Unlike AI chatbots requiring constant prompting and iteration, Genspark’s platform converts high-level business intent into finished deliverables.

Founding team:

Eric Jing, CEO: Founding member of Microsoft Bing (2006), built previous company to $5.5 billion valuation

Kay Zhu, CTO: Pioneered AI search ranking at Google (2011), launched world’s first deep neural network ranking model in production search (2013)

Wen Sang, COO: PhD from MIT, founded and exited Smarking (Y Combinator and Khosla Ventures backed enterprise SaaS)

The funding coincides with the launch of Genspark AI Workspace, which includes:

Genspark AI Inbox for email and communication automation

Genspark Teams for collaborative AI agent deployment

Genspark AI Sheets 2.0 for data analysis and modeling

Genspark Enterprise with security, compliance, and control features

Genspark doesn’t rely on a single pre-trained model. Instead, it intelligently orchestrates 30+ AI models—including GPT, Claude, and Gemini alongside open-source alternatives. This is powered by 150+ proprietary in-house tools and 20+ premium datasets, allowing the platform to integrate with hundreds of enterprise tools, collect scattered data, and deliver polished outcomes.

The company originally launched as an AI search engine similar to Perplexity, generating explanatory webpages called “Sparkpages” in response to user queries. The service reportedly gained 2 million users in a few months. However, Genspark pivoted earlier this year away from search toward autonomous execution—a shift reflecting the broader trend toward verticalized, action-oriented AI applications.

Genspark represents the evolution from AI assistance to AI autonomy. The rapid path to $50M ARR validates market demand for AI that delivers finished work rather than requiring constant human guidance. This positions Genspark as a potential category leader in what could become a multi-billion dollar market as enterprises shift from “AI-assisted” to “AI-automated” workflows.

Target impact: Process 200,000+ loans annually (approximately 4% of projected 2026 U.S. mortgage originations)

With new capital, Tidalwave plans to scale adoption with lenders, hire engineering talent, and integrate with more financial institutions. The company promises a radically faster, paperless mortgage experience saving lenders and borrowers significant time and money.

Vijil Raises $17 Million for AI Agent Governance

Fund Raised: $17 million
Stage: Series A
Total Funding: $23 million

Vijil secured $17 million to provide testing, monitoring, and guardrails for enterprise AI agents. As organizations deploy autonomous AI systems at scale, Vijil enables validation before and after deployment by synthesizing customer-specific test suites and supporting open-source foundation models.

Why it matters: Enterprise AI governance is emerging as a critical category. Similar to how DevOps and security testing became essential in software development, AI agent validation and monitoring represents a necessary layer for safe enterprise deployment.

Flux Marine Raises $15 Million for Electric Boat Engines

Fund Raised: $15 million
Total Funding: $30+ million since 2020
Investors: Existing investors, customers, Collide Capital (new)

Bristol, Rhode Island-based Flux Marine closed $15 million in new funding to scale production of electric outboard motors. Led by CEO Ben Sorkin, the company has commercialized a 115-horsepower electric outboard engine and modular battery system that drops into various boat hulls, bringing electrification to marine propulsion.

Important Takeaway

This week’s $2.5+ billion in funding reveals four critical shifts reshaping AI investment:

1. Infrastructure Becomes Winner-Take-Most

Lambda’s $1.5 billion raise—far exceeding market expectations—validates that AI infrastructure commands premium valuations despite intense competition. The company’s Microsoft partnership positions it alongside CoreWeave as critical suppliers to hyperscalers.

The bottleneck has shifted from algorithms to physical infrastructure. While everyone debated which foundation model would win, energy availability emerged as the real constraint. Lambda addresses this by building gigawatt-scale data centers optimized for AI workloads, positioning itself for the next wave of scaling.

NVIDIA’s continued investment in Lambda (and previous backing of CoreWeave, Crusoe, and others) demonstrates the chip giant’s strategy: back companies that drive GPU demand while building ecosystem dependencies. This creates a powerful flywheel where infrastructure providers get priority chip access, enabling them to win more hyperscaler contracts, driving more chip purchases.

2. From AI Assistance to AI Autonomy

Genspark’s rapid rise to $50M ARR in five months and $1.25 billion valuation demonstrates market appetite for AI that delivers finished work, not just conversation. The company’s “intent to deliverable” model represents a fundamental shift in enterprise AI adoption.

The pattern is clear: companies tired of prompt engineering and iterative refinement want systems that convert business intent into completed outputs. This explains why Genspark’s CFO customer noted trying “20+ AI tools” before finding one that’s “boardroom ready.”

This trend extends beyond Genspark. Across the market, companies building autonomous execution systems—whether for customer support (Giga), security testing (Tenzai), or financial operations (Ramp)—are achieving faster growth and higher valuations than general-purpose chatbots.

The agentic AI stack is forming: identity layers, payment infrastructure (Natural last week), governance frameworks (Vijil), and workflow orchestration tools. This represents a massive greenfield opportunity, as legacy systems were never designed for autonomous software entities making real-world decisions and transactions.

3. AI-Native Fintech Resilience

Ramp’s trajectory—four funding rounds in 2025, valuation increasing from $13B to $32B—proves that AI-native financial platforms can achieve exceptional growth even as most fintech struggled through 2023-2024 corrections.

The difference is measurable ROI. Ramp’s AI makes 26+ million decisions monthly, preventing wasteful spending, optimizing treasury allocation, and blocking fraud. This isn’t theoretical productivity—customers spend 5% less and grow 12% faster, outcomes that justify premium valuations.

Contrast this with traditional fintech, which typically competes on rate arbitrage or user experience improvements. AI-native platforms create genuine competitive moats through automated intelligence that compounds over time as it learns organizational patterns.

The implication: expect more AI-native financial tools to emerge and command premium valuations. Any workflow involving financial decisions, approvals, or analysis becomes a target for intelligent automation.

4. Healthcare AI Democratization Accelerates

Function Health’s $2.5 billion valuation and pricing reduction (from $499 to $365 annually) signals healthcare AI moving beyond wealthy early adopters toward mainstream accessibility.

Traditional healthcare focuses on acute intervention after problems arise. Function flips this model: comprehensive baseline testing, continuous monitoring, AI-powered analysis identifying risks early, and personalized prevention strategies. This mirrors the shift from reactive to predictive maintenance in manufacturing—but for human health.

The market opportunity is massive. Function has completed 50 million lab tests since 2023, demonstrating consumer appetite for proactive health management when it’s accessible and affordable. The Medical Intelligence Lab launch—combining personal data with medical research via generative AI—represents the next evolution: truly personalized medicine at scale.

Expect accelerated competition in this category. Traditional healthcare providers will need to acquire or build similar capabilities to remain relevant, while new entrants will emerge targeting specific health conditions or demographics with verticalized AI health platforms.

The week also highlighted strategic corporate investing shaping AI development. NVIDIA’s investment in Lambda follows its pattern of backing infrastructure providers (CoreWeave, Crusoe, Uniphore) that drive GPU demand. TWG Global’s $1.5B Lambda investment—and $15B AI-focused fund anchored by Mubadala Capital—demonstrates institutional conviction in AI infrastructure.

The geographic distribution remains heavily US-weighted, though global talent continues flowing into American AI companies. Genspark’s team spans Microsoft, Google, Meta backgrounds; Function attracts celebrity and athlete backing; Ramp serves customers from “family farms to space startups.”

As we approach year-end, AI funding shows no signs of slowing. With $192.7 billion deployed year-to-date (52.5% of all global VC according to Bloomberg data), the sector continues dominating venture capital. However, investor selectivity has increased—only companies demonstrating strong revenue growth, product-market fit, and defensible advantages secure mega-rounds.

Anysphere’s Cursor Reaches $29.3 Billion Valuation with $2.3 Billion Series D

Fund Raised: $2.3 billion
Valuation: $29.3 billion
Total Funding: $3.3 billion
Investors: Accel (co-lead), Coatue (co-lead), Thrive Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, DST Global, Nvidia, Google

San Francisco-based Anysphere closed a stunning $2.3 billion Series D funding round at a $29.3 billion valuation, nearly tripling its worth from just five months earlier. The company behind Cursor, the AI coding assistant that’s becoming essential infrastructure for software development, achieved one of the fastest valuation run-ups in tech history.

Founded in 2022 by four MIT graduates—Michael Truell (CEO), Aman Sanger, Arvid Lunnemark, and Sualeh Asif—Anysphere has grown from a research lab experiment into a must-have tool for engineering teams worldwide. Cursor initially launched as a fork of Microsoft’s Visual Studio Code with AI features baked in, but has evolved into something far more ambitious: a platform that fundamentally changes how software is written.

Staggering growth metrics:

Revenue: Surpassed $1 billion in annualized revenue

Valuation jump: From $9.9 billion (June 2025) to $29.3 billion (November 2025)

Enterprise expansion: 100-fold revenue growth in 2025

Team size: Expanded beyond 300 employees

Adoption: Used by engineers at OpenAI, Uber, Spotify, Instacart, and Major League Baseball

The company achieved this explosive growth without traditional marketing spend—a rarity in Silicon Valley. Instead, Cursor spread organically through engineering communities, with developers discovering that the tool could accelerate their work by 3-5x. The adoption pattern mirrors AWS circa 2010: one engineer tries it, the whole team switches, then Fortune 500 enterprise contracts follow.

In October 2025, Anysphere launched Composer, its proprietary AI model designed specifically for coding tasks. Early benchmarks suggest it outperforms competitors by 20-30% on multi-language coding tests. This move toward building its own models gives Anysphere greater control over its technology stack and economics, reducing dependence on third-party LLM providers like OpenAI and Anthropic.

The competitive landscape is fierce. GitHub Copilot, backed by Microsoft’s massive distribution, remains a formidable competitor. Replit raised $250 million at a $3 billion valuation earlier this year. Cognition secured $400 million at a $10.2 billion valuation for its Devin platform. Yet Cursor maintains its lead through superior performance, seamless VS Code integration, and the emerging category of “vibe coding”—where developers rely heavily on AI prompts rather than writing code line-by-line.

OpenAI reportedly approached Anysphere earlier this year about acquiring Cursor, but the deal didn’t gain traction. With a $29.3 billion valuation and massive revenue momentum, Anysphere appears focused on building an independent company rather than becoming part of a larger tech giant’s portfolio.

The funding will support continued development of Composer, international expansion, and scaling to meet enterprise demand. Strategic investments from Google and Nvidia signal the importance of Cursor in the broader AI ecosystem—Google supplies models for parts of the product, while Nvidia counts Anysphere as a customer.

CHAOS Industries Secures $510 Million at $4.5 Billion Valuation

Fund Raised: $510 million
Stage: Series D
Valuation: $4.5 billion
Total Funding: $1 billion
Investors: Valor Equity Partners (lead), 8VC, Accel

Los Angeles-based CHAOS Industries closed a $510 million Series D round just four months after its previous funding, bringing total capital raised to $1 billion since the company’s 2022 founding. The defense tech startup, which builds counter-drone radar and communication systems, reached a $4.5 billion valuation as investor appetite for defense technology surges to record levels.

Founded by John Tenet (CEO), who previously co-founded drone-zapping startup Epirus, CHAOS Industries is building a multi-product defense contractor focused on one of modern warfare’s most pressing challenges: detecting and neutralizing unmanned aerial threats. The company’s timing couldn’t be better—drone warfare has transformed military operations, and traditional defense systems struggle to detect and respond to small, fast-moving UAVs.

Platform capabilities:

Detection range: Hundreds of kilometers for small UAVs

Response time: Up to 10 minutes faster than traditional radar systems

Technology: Coherent Distributed Networks (CDN) for coordinated sensing

Recent acquisition: Ziva Corporation for wireless time synchronization

CHAOS’s Coherent Distributed Networks technology represents a fundamental shift from traditional “exquisite radar” systems designed to track large aircraft. Instead, CDN deploys multiple coordinated sensors that work together, detecting threats to warfighters, borders, and critical infrastructure far earlier than legacy systems. The recent acquisition of Ziva Corporation adds wireless time synchronization—ensuring every sensor in the network operates in perfect coordination.

Despite its $4.5 billion valuation, CHAOS has announced only a $2 million Air Force contract publicly, plus work with Eglin Air Force Base. However, CEO Tenet indicated the company expects to announce a dozen contracts in coming months. The company’s go-to-market strategy includes hiring former government officials—Will Hurd (former CIA officer and U.S. Representative) joined as Chief Strategy Officer in 2024, while John Tenet’s father George (former Allen and Company chairman and CIA director) provides strategic guidance.

Antonio Gracias, CEO of Valor Equity Partners and longtime Elon Musk business partner, joined CHAOS’s board as part of the funding. Gracias recently advised the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and leads investments across defense tech including Anduril, SpaceX, and Defense Unicorns. His involvement extends Valor’s portfolio strategy across next-generation military technology companies.

The defense tech sector has exploded in 2025, with investors pouring nearly $30 billion into defense companies through August. This investment wave created a new generation of multi-billion dollar companies: Anduril ($30 billion valuation), Shield AI ($5 billion), and Saronic ($4 billion). These companies represent a fundamental shift in defense procurement, bringing Silicon Valley innovation and manufacturing speed to military applications.

The funding will support expanded product development, manufacturing scale-up, and workforce expansion as CHAOS races to deploy systems addressing domestic and global drone threats.

D-Matrix Raises $275 Million for AI Inference at $2 Billion Valuation

Fund Raised: $275 million
Stage: Series C
Valuation: $2 billion
Total Funding: $450 million
Investors: BullhoundCapital (co-lead), Triatomic Capital (co-lead), Temasek (co-lead), Qatar Investment Authority, EDBI, Microsoft M12, Nautilus Venture Partners, Industry Ventures, Mirae Asset

Santa Clara-based D-Matrix closed $275 million in Series C funding at a $2 billion valuation, positioning the company at the forefront of the shift from AI training to AI inference. The oversubscribed round attracted leading investment firms across Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East—underscoring global investor confidence in specialized AI hardware.

Founded in 2019 by CEO Sid Sheth and CTO Sudeep Bhoja, D-Matrix took a contrarian bet: while the AI industry obsessed over training massive models, the real bottleneck would emerge when running those models continuously at scale. Six years later, that prediction is proving correct. As ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI systems handle billions of queries daily, inference costs have become the dominant expense for AI companies.

Technical advantages:

Performance: 10× faster than GPU-based systems

Cost: 3× lower operational expenses

Efficiency: 3–5× better energy consumption

Speed: 30,000 tokens per second at 2ms per token (Llama 70B)

Capacity: Run 100B-parameter models in a single rack

D-Matrix’s full-stack inference platform combines breakthrough compute-memory integration, high-speed networking through JetStream NICs, and inference-optimized Aviator software. Unlike traditional GPU architectures that constantly move data between memory and compute, D-Matrix’s digital in-memory compute architecture processes data where it lives—dramatically reducing latency and power consumption.

The platform’s Corsair inference accelerators deliver performance that would require ten traditional data centers, offering a clear path to reducing global data center energy consumption. This sustainability angle resonates powerfully in 2025, as governments tighten carbon regulations and data centers face increasing scrutiny over energy usage.

Recent partnerships strengthen D-Matrix’s market position. The company announced SquadRack, an open standards-based reference architecture developed with Arista Networks, Broadcom, and Supermicro. This ecosystem approach accelerates customer deployments by providing pre-validated hardware configurations that work seamlessly together.

Strategic investment from Microsoft’s M12 venture fund (which participated in multiple rounds) and Qatar Investment Authority reflects confidence in both the technology and the massive addressable market. As AI inference becomes the dominant cost in production AI systems, companies need alternatives to expensive GPU infrastructure.

The funding will advance D-Matrix’s roadmap—including next-generation 3D memory stacking and inference-optimized compute—while supporting global expansion and multiple large-scale deployments. With offices in Santa Clara, Toronto, Sydney, Bangalore, and Belgrade, D-Matrix is building the infrastructure to serve hyperscale, enterprise, and sovereign customers worldwide.

Other Notable Rounds

Gopuff Raises $250 Million Despite Valuation Markdown

Fund Raised: $250 million
Valuation: $8.5 billion
Total Funding: $3.7 billion
Investors: Eldridge Industries (co-lead), Valor Equity Partners (co-lead), Baillie Gifford, Robinhood, Equalis Capital

Philadelphia-based Gopuff secured $250 million in new funding at an $8.5 billion valuation—a significant markdown from its $15 billion COVID-era peak, but a testament to the company’s resilience as competitors exited the instant delivery market. The funding comes as Gopuff reports its strongest financial performance in company history, with record revenue, contribution profit, and sustained momentum.

Founded in 2013 by Yakir Gola and Rafael Ilishayev, Gopuff operates its own micro-fulfillment centers delivering 5,000+ products in as fast as 15 minutes. Unlike competitors that relied on third-party retailers, Gopuff’s vertically integrated model owns the entire supply chain—from inventory to delivery.

The transformation required painful cuts. The company laid off hundreds of employees through 2022-2023, closed underperforming markets, and refocused on unit economics. The strategy worked: Gopuff survived while competitors Getir and Gorillas merged and exited the United States.

Recent innovations driving growth:

AI-powered technology improving delivery speed and personalization

Fresh grocery and everyday essentials expansion

Nationwide SNAP EBT payment acceptance

Partnerships with Starbucks, Disney, Amazon, and Tom Brady

Gopuff FAM membership program rapid growth

Alongside the funding, Gopuff appointed Matt McBrady, Ph.D., as Chief Financial Officer. McBrady brings experience from BlackRock, Bain Capital, and helping take multiple companies public—positioning Gopuff for its next growth phase and potential IPO.

Alembic Technologies Raises $145 Million for Causal AI

Fund Raised: $145 million
Stage: Series B
Valuation: $645 million
Total Funding: $212 million
Investors: Prysm Capital (co-lead), Accenture (co-lead), Silver Lake Waterman, Liquid 2 Ventures, NextEquity, WndrCo

San Francisco-based Alembic secured $145 million in Series B funding at a $645 million valuation—a 15.7× increase from its Series A round just 18 months earlier. The company is using a significant portion of the capital to deploy what it claims is one of the fastest privately owned supercomputers ever built: an Nvidia NVL72 superPOD cluster.

Founded by CEO Tomás Puig, Alembic pioneered “causal AI” for enterprise marketing—technology that identifies cause-and-effect relationships rather than just correlations. While traditional marketing analytics tell you what happened, causal AI explains why it happened and predicts what actions will drive specific outcomes.

The platform’s value proposition resonates with Fortune 500 CMOs struggling to prove marketing ROI:

Delta Air Lines quantified Olympics sponsorship revenue lift within days

Mars measured the dollar value of viral celebrity moments

A Fortune 500 tech company expanded its sales pipeline by 37%

Texas A&M boosted fan engagement and donor contributions

North Sails optimized digital strategy for record ROI

Alembic’s technology addresses a critical enterprise challenge: As general-purpose AI models become commoditized, sustainable competitive advantage shifts to proprietary data and specialized analysis. The company’s causal engine creates what Puig calls a “compounding data flywheel”—better insights lead to improved strategies, which generate higher-quality data, accelerating the learning loop.

The Nvidia NVL72 superPOD, deployed at Equinix’s Silicon Valley data center, provides computing power that would cost hundreds of millions annually on public clouds. This infrastructure moat, combined with proprietary mathematics refined over years, creates defensibility that generic LLMs cannot replicate.

Strategic investment from Accenture includes a partnership to deploy the platform across Accenture’s clients. Jeffrey Katzenberg’s WndrCo (which led the Series A) connected Alembic with entertainment and consumer brands including Delta, Mars, and Disney. The investor lineup signals confidence that marketing measurement is shifting from correlation to causation.

International Spotlight

United States: Dominated funding this week with Anysphere ($2.3B), CHAOS Industries ($510M), D-Matrix ($275M), Gopuff ($250M), and Alembic ($145M) representing the largest deals. AI coding, defense tech, and infrastructure commanded premium valuations.

Global Diversity: D-Matrix’s funding round attracted investment across Europe (BullhoundCapital), Asia (Temasek, EDBI), and Middle East (Qatar Investment Authority), demonstrating AI infrastructure’s global appeal.

Silicon Valley’s Defense Tech Hub: The defense technology sector continues concentrating in Southern California (CHAOS Industries in Los Angeles) and the Bay Area, bringing together engineering talent and proximity to defense customers.

Important Takeaway

This week’s $3.7+ billion in funding reveals four critical shifts reshaping AI investment:

1. AI Coding Tools Achieve Explosive Valuations

Anysphere’s journey from $2.5 billion (December 2024) to $29.3 billion (November 2025) in less than a year represents one of the fastest valuation escalations in tech history. The company’s $1+ billion in annualized revenue and organic growth without marketing spend signal that AI coding tools have moved from “nice-to-have” to mission-critical infrastructure.

The “vibe coding” revolution is real: Developers increasingly work by describing what they want in natural language, with AI generating the implementation. This paradigm shift creates massive opportunities for companies that execute well, while also creating consolidation pressure. Replit, Cognition, and others compete, but Cursor’s adoption across elite tech companies (OpenAI, Uber, Spotify) and enterprise penetration above 50% among Fortune 500 engineering organizations demonstrates network effects in action.

Compute costs remain a challenge for all players—running and refining advanced models requires significant investment. However, investors believe customers will pay premium prices for tools that substantially increase engineering productivity, and that compute costs will fall as infrastructure improves.

2. Defense Tech Enters Its Golden Age

CHAOS Industries’ $510 million raise represents the defense tech sector’s maturation from venture backwater to one of 2025’s hottest investment categories. Nearly $30 billion flowed into defense companies through August 2025, creating multiple decacorns including Anduril ($30B), Shield AI ($5B), and now CHAOS ($4.5B).

Three factors drive this surge:

Geopolitical reality: Ukraine war validated drone warfare importance

Domestic urgency: Border security and critical infrastructure protection require counter-UAV systems

Pentagon modernization: Military procurement increasingly embraces Silicon Valley speed over traditional defense contractors

Antonio Gracias joining CHAOS’s board extends Valor’s defense portfolio strategy. His roles advising DOGE and sitting on boards of Anduril, CHAOS, and SpaceX position Valor’s companies to potentially reshape Pentagon procurement. While most defense tech companies lack clear paths to profitability, investors bet they’ll play crucial roles in U.S. military modernization amid China tensions.

The drone detection market specifically addresses a validated military need. Russia’s 5,600+ drone launches in September 2025 alone demonstrate the threat scale. CHAOS’s ability to detect small UAVs “hundreds of kilometers away” versus legacy systems focused on large aircraft represents the innovation defense officials seek.

3. The Inference Economy Emerges

D-Matrix’s $275 million raise at a $2 billion valuation validates a contrarian bet: While the AI industry spent billions training ever-larger models, the real bottleneck would emerge in inference—running those models continuously at scale. In 2025, that prediction is reality.

As foundation models mature and proliferate, inference costs dominate AI economics. OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and Microsoft collectively serve billions of AI queries daily. Traditional GPU infrastructure designed for training workloads proves inefficient and expensive for inference. D-Matrix’s specialized hardware delivering 10× better performance, 3× lower costs, and 3–5× better energy efficiency addresses this directly.

The shift from training to inference creates opportunities for specialized chip startups targeting specific AI workloads. While Nvidia dominates training hardware, the inference market remains fragmented and ripe for disruption. D-Matrix competes with Groq, Cerebras, and emerging players, but its full-stack approach (hardware + networking + software) and strategic partnerships (Arista, Broadcom, Supermicro) provide ecosystem advantages.

Sustainability considerations amplify the opportunity. As governments tighten carbon regulations, D-Matrix’s claim that one data center can do the work of ten using their infrastructure positions the company favorably. Energy efficiency isn’t just cost savings—it’s increasingly a regulatory and reputational requirement.

4. Specialized AI Labs Command Premium Valuations

Alembic’s 15.7× valuation increase from Series A to Series B demonstrates investor appetite for specialized AI applications that create defensible moats. Unlike horizontal AI platforms accessible to everyone, vertical-specific AI labs building proprietary models, data advantages, and domain expertise can justify premium valuations.

Causal AI represents a category shift in enterprise analytics. Traditional tools identify correlations (X and Y move together), while causal AI determines cause-and-effect (X drives Y). For CMOs struggling to prove marketing ROI, this distinction matters enormously. Alembic’s early adopter results—Delta quantifying Olympics sponsorship revenue, Mars measuring viral moment value, Fortune 500 tech companies expanding pipelines 37%—demonstrate real business impact.

The company’s infrastructure investment (Nvidia NVL72 superPOD) creates a compute moat. Running causal models at scale requires supercomputer-level infrastructure costing hundreds of millions annually on public clouds. Owning the hardware provides cost advantages while addressing enterprise concerns about putting strategic data on hyperscaler platforms.

As general-purpose LLMs commoditize, sustainable competitive advantage shifts to specialized models processing proprietary data. Alembic’s focus on marketing measurement, Renaissance Technologies’ quantitative trading models, and similar specialized AI systems represent where AI’s economic value increasingly concentrates.

The Week’s Power Law Distribution

Five deals accounted for $3.58 billion of the week’s $3.7+ billion total—a stark concentration reflecting AI’s winner-take-most dynamics. Anysphere alone captured 62% of weekly funding, while the top three deals represented 85% of total capital deployed.

This power law distribution has important implications:

For founders: Building in hot categories (coding automation, defense tech, AI infrastructure) can unlock massive valuations, but competition intensifies quickly. First-mover advantages compound through network effects and ecosystem lock-in.

For investors: Late-stage mega-rounds in proven companies dominate capital deployment. Early-stage investors who backed Anysphere’s $8 million seed (led by OpenAI’s Startup Fund) achieved extraordinary returns in just three years.

For the ecosystem: Capital concentration in proven winners leaves less for experimentation. However, the success of Anysphere (founded by four MIT students with no prior startup experience) demonstrates that technical execution still trumps pedigree.

Strategic Corporate Investors Shape AI Development

This week highlighted how strategic corporate investors actively shape AI’s direction:

Nvidia’s Multi-Sector Strategy: Investments in Anysphere (coding tools), CHAOS Industries (defense tech), and as D-Matrix’s founding enterprise customer demonstrate intentional portfolio construction driving GPU demand across verticals.

Microsoft’s Inference Bet: M12’s participation in D-Matrix aligns with Microsoft’s Azure strategy. As hyperscalers face inference cost pressures, specialized hardware partnerships become strategic necessities.

Accenture’s Enterprise Distribution: Co-leading Alembic’s round while announcing client deployment partnerships shows how consulting firms leverage strategic investments for competitive advantage and new revenue streams.

Google’s Coding Tool Hedge: Participating in Anysphere’s round despite competing with Cursor through Google Gemini’s coding capabilities demonstrates pragmatic portfolio theory—hedge competitive risks by investing across the landscape.

These corporate venture arms operate beyond pure financial returns. They’re shaping technology roadmaps, securing partnership access, and positioning their parent companies in AI’s rapidly evolving landscape.

Crusoe Energy Reaches $10 Billion Valuation with $1.38 Billion Series E

Fund Raised: $1.38 billion
Valuation: $10 billion
Total Funding: $3.9 billion
Investors: Valor Equity Partners (co-lead), Mubadala Capital (co-lead), NVIDIA, Fidelity Management, Founders Fund

Denver-based Crusoe Energy Systems closed a massive $1.38 billion Series E funding round at a $10 billion valuation, cementing its position as a critical player in AI infrastructure. The round was oversubscribed, bringing together major tech and institutional investors in what represents one of 2025’s largest AI infrastructure bets.

Founded in 2018 by Chase Lochmiller (CEO) and Cully Cavness (COO), Crusoe began with an unconventional approach: converting wasted natural gas from oil fields into energy for portable data centers initially used for cryptocurrency mining. By 2025, the company has evolved into a vertically integrated “AI factory” building gigawatt-scale data centers that power massive AI training workloads.

Impressive metrics:

Valuation increased 257% from $2.8 billion (December 2024)

1.2-gigawatt facility in Abilene, Texas operational in just one year

45 gigawatts in development pipeline (equivalent to 8-10 New York Cities)

First phase of $500 billion Stargate project delivered

The Abilene facility, developed for OpenAI and Oracle, went from groundbreaking to operational in just 12 months—a remarkable achievement for a nearly one-million square-foot data center designed to host up to 100,000 GPUs. Beyond Texas, Crusoe is constructing a 1.8-gigawatt campus in Wyoming and operating natural gas-powered centers in Alberta, Canada.

Crusoe has prevented over 22 billion cubic feet of natural gas from being flared since 2018, equivalent to taking 630,000 cars off the road annually.

Crusoe’s model addresses the AI industry’s emerging bottleneck: energy availability, not chip supply. Traditional cloud providers are hitting power constraints as cities struggle to handle the electrical load AI models demand. Crusoe solves this by building facilities near stranded energy sources—flared gas, excess renewable power, and underutilized grid capacity.

The funding will support GPU purchases, expand Crusoe Cloud services, and accelerate development of the 45-gigawatt pipeline. NVIDIA’s continued backing validates the company’s technical approach—Crusoe deploys tens of thousands of Blackwell chips across its infrastructure.

Uniphore Raises $260 Million Series F to Lead Business AI Cloud

Fund Raised: $260 million
Valuation: $2.5 billion
Total Funding: $870 million
Investors: NVIDIA, AMD, Snowflake, Databricks, NEA, March Capital, BNF Capital, National Grid Partners, Prosperity7 Ventures

Palo Alto-based Uniphore closed a $260 million Series F round at a $2.5 billion valuation, with strategic investments from AI and data infrastructure giants NVIDIA, AMD, Snowflake, and Databricks. This marks one of the most strategic funding rounds in enterprise AI, bringing together the companies that define the current AI infrastructure landscape.

Founded in 2008 by Umesh Sachdev (CEO) and Ravi Saraogi in Chennai, India, Uniphore has evolved from speech analytics to providing comprehensive Business AI infrastructure. The company’s Business AI Cloud is a sovereign, composable, and secure platform that connects data, knowledge, models, and AI agents across enterprise ecosystems.

Platform architecture:

Data layer: Connects to any application or cloud to query and prepare information

Knowledge layer: Structures and contextualizes enterprise data for model training

Model layer: Applies enterprise safety guardrails to third-party LLMs

Agentic layer: Provides prebuilt AI agents with orchestration capabilities

Market traction:

2,000+ global businesses using the platform

Fortune 500 clients include KPMG, Dell Technologies, The Washington Post, Atlassian, Skechers

Exponential adoption from large enterprises

Zero-debt, profitable operations

The round is particularly notable for maintaining the $2.5 billion valuation from its 2022 Series E, despite the challenging funding environment. This reflects investor confidence in Uniphore’s long-term strategy prioritizing sustainable growth over valuation inflation.

Recent strategic moves strengthen Uniphore’s position: the company acquired ActionIQ (customer data platform) and Infoworks (data engineering), and announced plans to acquire Orby AI (agentic automation) and Autonom8 (low-code workflow editor). These acquisitions position Uniphore at the forefront of AI talent and capabilities.

Sesame Raises $250 Million Series B for AI-Powered Smart Glasses

Fund Raised: $250 million
Stage: Series B
Total Funding: $307.6 million
Investors: Sequoia Capital (lead), Spark Capital

San Francisco-based Sesame secured $250 million in Series B funding to develop conversational AI integrated into lightweight smart glasses. Led by former Oculus co-founder and CEO Brendan Iribe and Ankit Kumar (former CTO of AR startup Ubiquity6), Sesame is building what Sequoia Capital describes as “a platform for natural collaboration between humans and machines.”

The startup first emerged from stealth in February 2025, offering demos of its AI voices named “Maya” and “Miles.” Within weeks, over one million people accessed the demos, generating more than five million minutes of conversation. The natural-sounding, emotionally expressive voices resonated strongly with early users.

All-star founding team:

Brendan Iribe: Oculus co-founder and former CEO

Nate Mitchell: Oculus co-founder, now CPO at Sesame

Hans Hartmann: Former Oculus COO and Fitbit executive, now COO

Ryan Brown: Former Oculus engineering manager and Reality Labs director

Angela Gayles: Longtime Facebook and Meta executive

Ankit Kumar: Former CTO of Ubiquity6

Unlike bulky VR headsets or expensive AR devices like Apple’s $3,500 Vision Pro, Sesame is developing lightweight, fashion-forward eyewear designed for all-day wear. The glasses will feature high-quality audio and access to an AI companion that can “observe the world alongside you” through natural voice interaction.

The company’s iOS beta launched alongside the funding announcement, allowing select users to interact with the AI for search, messaging, and thinking tasks. The beta requires confidentiality agreements, suggesting features that could surprise competitors.

Sequoia emphasized that Sesame represents the fourth major interface shift in computing: from typing to tapping to talking. “The interface layer of computing is undergoing its fourth major shift,” the firm noted. “Voice-enabled collaboration will define the next era.”

The funding will support hardware development, conversational AI refinement, and manufacturing scale-up. With Iribe’s track record—he built Oculus into a $2 billion Facebook acquisition—investors are betting Sesame can navigate the notoriously difficult consumer hardware market.

The competitive landscape is intense: Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses with AI, Google’s Android XR collaboration with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker, and Samsung’s planned Android XR glasses all target similar territory. However, Sesame’s focus on natural conversation and wearability could differentiate the platform.

Giga Raises $61 Million Series A to Scale Enterprise Voice AI

Fund Raised: $61 million
Stage: Series A
Investors: Redpoint Ventures (lead), Y Combinator, Nexus Venture Partners

San Francisco-based Giga secured $61 million in Series A funding to scale its voice-based AI agents for enterprise customer support. Founded by IIT Kharagpur graduates and Forbes 30 Under 30 honorees Varun Vummadi (CEO) and Esha Manideep (CTO), Giga is automating complex customer service operations for Fortune 100 companies.

The company already powers customer support for DoorDash, handling millions of calls monthly across 40+ countries and nearly 50 million monthly users. Giga’s system delivers measurable improvements: fewer escalations, faster resolution paths, and enhanced operational efficiency.

Technical advantages:

Rapid deployment: Enterprise-scale AI support in less than two weeks

Real-time orchestration: Sub-half-second response times managing listening, comprehension, decision-making, database queries, and responses simultaneously

Multilingual support: Open-source and multilingual LLMs with native language options

98% resolution rate: Autonomous handling of complex customer interactions

For example, at DoorDash, when a Dasher can’t complete a delivery, Giga’s system maintains a live connection with the Dasher, calls the consumer to verify the address, and performs compliance cross-checks—all automatically and in real time.

The voice AI market is projected to grow from $3.14 billion in 2024 to $47.5 billion by 2034, with intense competition from specialized startups like ElevenLabs and Vapi alongside tech giants like Amazon and Microsoft.

Giga previously raised $3.6 million in a 2023 seed round led by Nexus Venture Partners. The company pivoted from helping enterprises deploy on-premise LLMs to offering ready-to-use conversational AI agents—a shift reflecting the broader trend toward verticalized AI applications.

The funding will expand the technical team, accelerate go-to-market efforts, and scale deployments with global enterprises. Giga is particularly focused on regulated industries like healthcare and finance, deploying entire systems on client infrastructure using open-source models to ensure data never leaves client control.

Natural Emerges from Stealth with $9.8 Million for Agentic Payments

Fund Raised: $9.8 million
Stage: Seed
Investors: Abstract (co-lead), Human Capital (co-lead), Forerunner Ventures, Terrain, Restive Ventures, Genius Ventures, plus founders from Bridge, Mercury, Ramp, Vercel, Unit

San Francisco-based Natural emerged from stealth with $9.8 million in seed funding to build payment infrastructure for AI agents. Co-led by Abstract and Human Capital, the round included prominent fintech founders who understand the payment stack intimately.

Natural addresses a critical bottleneck in agentic AI: while AI agents can manage procurement, negotiate with suppliers, and make business decisions, they lack the infrastructure to execute payments autonomously. This forces humans to intervene at the transaction layer, breaking automated workflows.

Target use cases:

Property management: Agents sourcing, hiring, and paying contractors for maintenance

Logistics: Freight negotiation agents settling payments with truckers automatically

Healthcare: Back-office agents sourcing and paying vendors and suppliers

Procurement: Inventory management agents monitoring stock, negotiating with suppliers, and handling payments in real time

Legacy payment systems were built around human-to-human interaction, requiring approval workflows, compliance checks, and manual verification steps incompatible with autonomous agent operations. Natural is creating a natural language layer that allows agents to transact directly with businesses and other agents.

The company’s early design partners span logistics, property management, procurement, healthcare, and construction—sectors where agents can source, negotiate, and pay vendors or contractors in real time. The platform leverages existing rails like ACH initially, with plans to consolidate fragmented payment workflows into machine-accessible protocols.

Natural is deliberately keeping its team lean—currently five employees, expected to remain under 10 by year-end—with most hires focused on engineering talent. The funding will support expanding engineering capabilities and signing bank and payout partners as Natural moves toward general availability in 2026.

The agentic payments category is emerging rapidly, with multiple startups recognizing that autonomous AI systems require purpose-built financial infrastructure. Natural joins companies like Catena Labs ($18M), Nevermined ($4M), and Lava ($5.8M) building payment infrastructure for the agent economy.

The company combines neural networks (pattern recognition and language fluency) with symbolic reasoning (structured logic and rule-based systems), enabling models to not only predict outcomes but also follow consistent rules and verify results.

International Spotlight

United States: Dominated funding this week with Crusoe ($1.38B), Uniphore ($260M), Sesame ($250M), and Beacon Software ($250M) representing the largest deals. Infrastructure, agentic AI, and vertical SaaS commanded premium valuations.

France: Poolside’s reported discussions for up to $2 billion at a $12 billion valuation (with NVIDIA committing $500M-$1B) would cement Paris’s position as a major AI coding hub, following Mistral AI’s success.

India: Strong fintech and AI activity with Giga’s founding team (IIT Kharagpur graduates) and Uniphore’s Chennai roots highlighting India’s growing role in enterprise AI innovation.

Important Takeaway

This week’s $2.3+ billion in funding reveals three critical shifts in AI investment:

1. Infrastructure Becomes the New Battleground

Crusoe’s $10 billion valuation and Uniphore’s strategic backing from NVIDIA, AMD, Snowflake, and Databricks signal that AI infrastructure commands premium valuations. The bottleneck has shifted from algorithms to compute power, energy availability, and enterprise integration layers. Companies providing these foundational capabilities are achieving massive scale.

Energy is the new constraint: While everyone focused on GPU shortages, power availability emerged as the real bottleneck. Crusoe’s model—building data centers near stranded energy sources—represents a blueprint for scaling AI infrastructure without overwhelming electrical grids. The company’s 45-gigawatt pipeline would power computing equivalent to 8-10 New York Cities.

2. Agentic AI Demands New Infrastructure Layers

Natural’s $9.8M raise for agentic payments infrastructure highlights an emerging category: purpose-built systems enabling AI agents to interact with the physical economy. As agents move from generating content to taking actions—negotiating contracts, making purchases, managing workflows—they require payment rails, identity systems, and compliance frameworks designed for autonomous operations.

The agentic AI stack is forming: Companies are building identity layers, payment infrastructure, workflow orchestration, and decision-making frameworks specifically for agent-to-agent and agent-to-business interactions. This represents a massive greenfield opportunity, as legacy systems were never designed for autonomous software entities.

3. Voice-First Computing Gains Momentum

Sesame’s $250M raise and Giga’s $61M Series A demonstrate growing conviction that voice will replace screens as the primary computing interface. Both companies are building not just better voice assistants, but entirely new interaction paradigms optimized for ambient, continuous dialogue.

The shift from apps to conversations: Rather than launching applications and navigating menus, users will increasingly “talk” to their computing environment through wearables and ambient devices. This interface revolution requires not just better speech recognition but contextual understanding, emotional intelligence, and multi-modal awareness.

The week also highlighted how strategic corporate investors are shaping AI development. NVIDIA’s investments in Crusoe, Uniphore, and potentially Poolside demonstrate the chip giant’s strategy of backing companies that drive GPU demand while building the AI ecosystem. Similarly, Snowflake and Databricks investing in Uniphore strengthens data platform integration.

The geographic distribution remains heavily US-weighted, but Europe (Poolside in Paris) and India (Giga founders, Uniphore origins) continue producing globally competitive AI companies with strong technical foundations.

Mercor Quintuples Valuation to $10 Billion with $350 Million Series C

Fund Raised: $350 million
Valuation: $10 billion
Investors: Felicis Ventures (lead), Benchmark, General Catalyst, Robinhood Ventures

San Francisco-based Mercor closed a blockbuster $350 million Series C round, quintupling its valuation from $2 billion just eight months after its February 2025 Series B. The company has transformed from an AI-powered hiring platform into critical infrastructure for training foundation models, connecting AI labs with 30,000+ domain experts who collectively earn over $1.5 million daily.

Founded by three Thiel Fellows—Brendan Foody (CEO), Adarsh Hiremath, and Surya Midha—Mercor initially built technology to analyze candidate resumes and transcripts. The pivot came when founders realized they’d accidentally assembled a vast network of highly specialized professionals across science, medicine, law, and engineering.

Mercor now manages reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF) at unprecedented scale, providing the human-in-the-loop training that frontier AI labs require.

Explosive growth metrics:

$500 million ARR as of September 2025 (on track to hit faster than Cursor)

30,000+ contractors earning average $85/hour

Zero enterprise churn

Profitable operations

Mercor’s fortunes soared after Meta invested $14.3 billion for a 49% stake in Scale AI, causing Scale’s CEO to step down and join Meta. Major labs including Google and OpenAI reportedly cut ties with Scale over neutrality concerns, creating massive opportunity for an independent alternative.

The funding will expand the global talent network, advance AI-powered expert matching systems, and accelerate delivery speed. Felicis partner Sundeep Peechu noted: “Mercor crossed a $500 million revenue run rate this September and is profitable, with zero enterprise churn. We at Felicis are thrilled to invest in their Series C because they are building the next generational platform technology company.”

Fireworks AI Raises $250 Million Series C to Lead AI Inference Market

Fund Raised: $250 million
Valuation: $4 billion
Total Funding: $327 million
Investors: Lightspeed Venture Partners (co-lead), Index Ventures (co-lead), Evantic (co-lead), Sequoia Capital, NVIDIA, AMD, Databricks

Redwood City-based Fireworks AI secured $250 million in Series C funding at a $4 billion valuation, positioning the company to dominate enterprise AI inference infrastructure. Founded by the PyTorch team from Meta—including CEO Lin Qiao—Fireworks has scaled to process over 10 trillion tokens daily for 10,000+ customers in 2025.

The round includes $230 million in primary financing and $20 million in secondary offerings, reflecting both growth capital and liquidity for early employees and investors. The investment arrives as the AI industry pivots from training-focused infrastructure to inference optimization—where trained models make real-time predictions in production environments.

While competitors provide black-box API access to models, Fireworks arms developers with hundreds of cutting-edge open-source models across text, image, audio, and multimodal domains. The platform offers fine-tuning capabilities ranging from simple supervised learning to advanced reinforcement learning—tools previously guarded by frontier labs.

Technical superiority:

Processing 10+ trillion tokens daily

$280 million ARR as of May 2025 (up from $6.5 million year prior)

Sub-second inference at scale

40% latency reduction vs. alternatives

Up to 60% cost savings for customers

Major customers: Uber, Shopify, DoorDash, Genspark, Retell AI, GitLab, Cursor

The company recently launched Eval Protocol, the first systematic attempt to standardize model evaluation, and application-tailored tuning tools that let developers apply the same reinforcement learning techniques used by frontier labs.

The funding will support global expansion, algorithm research, infrastructure scaling (3-4x capacity increase), and hiring across engineering, product, and GTM teams. CEO Qiao told the Wall Street Journal the company will hire 150+ AI researchers and engineers while purchasing additional GPUs for its cloud platform.

Synthesia Doubles Valuation to $4 Billion with $200 Million Round

Fund Raised: $200 million
Valuation: $4 billion
Total Funding: $536 million
Investor: GV (Google Ventures) (lead), with participation from NEA, Kleiner Perkins, Accel, NVIDIA, Adobe

London-based Synthesia raised $200 million in Series E funding led by GV, nearly doubling its valuation from $2.1 billion just nine months after its January 2025 Series D. The AI video generation platform has established dominance in enterprise avatar-based video creation, serving 60,000+ customers including 90% of Fortune 100 companies.

Founded in 2017 by researchers from University College London, Stanford, and Cambridge, Synthesia enables businesses to create professional videos featuring lifelike AI avatars speaking in 140+ languages. Users simply input text scripts, select avatars, and the system generates broadcast-quality videos—no cameras, studios, or actors required.

Remarkable traction:

$150 million+ ARR (crossed $100M ARR milestone in August 2025 after just 36 months)

$2 million revenue in a single day (October 2025)

60,000+ customers globally

90% of Fortune 100 adoption

Enterprise clients: Zoom, Heineken, Bosch, DuPont, Xerox, Spirit Airlines

While consumer-focused competitors like OpenAI’s Sora and HeyGen target viral content creation, Synthesia carved out enterprise communications—corporate training, internal updates, employee onboarding, and product demos. This focus on brand consistency, multilingual capability, and realistic presentation differentiates the platform.

The funding will expand product capabilities beyond training into marketing, advertising, and external communications, building toward a comprehensive business video platform. The company recently hired Peter Hill as CTO—a 25-year Amazon veteran who led technical divisions at scale.

In early October, reports surfaced that Adobe offered $3 billion to acquire Synthesia. CEO Victor Riparbelli declined. At a $4 billion valuation weeks later, that rejection appears prescient—assuming the company sustains growth momentum.

GV’s leadership in the round signals Alphabet’s continued commitment to enterprise AI applications, following the venture arm’s pattern of backing category-defining vertical AI companies.

Legora Secures $150 Million to Transform Legal AI in Europe

Fund Raised: $150 million
Valuation: $1.8 billion
Investors: Bessemer Venture Partners (lead), ICONIQ, General Catalyst, Redpoint Ventures, Benchmark, Y Combinator

Sweden-based Legora (formerly Leya) raised $150 million in Series C funding at a $1.8 billion valuation, marking one of Europe’s largest legal tech financings to date. The Stockholm-founded startup provides AI-powered research, drafting, and collaboration tools for law firms and corporate legal departments.

Founded in 2023 by Max Junestrand and Sigge Labor out of the Stockholm School of Economics’ Business Lab incubator, Legora has built a platform that automates tedious legal work without removing lawyers from strategic decision-making. The company serves over 400 law firms across 40 markets from offices in Stockholm, London, and New York.

Explosive growth:

Customer base grew from 250 to 400+ law firms in six months

Geographic markets doubled from 20 to 40

Employs 100+ people across three continents

The funding will support global expansion, product development, and hiring across geographies. The round comes as legal tech hits all-time highs in venture funding, driven by AI-powered automation that promises to eliminate manual drudgery while keeping attorneys focused on higher-value strategy and client relationships.

Bessemer partner’s involvement reflects the firm’s conviction in vertical AI applications that solve specific professional workflows. The legal sector represents a massive opportunity—law firms globally generate over $800 billion in annual revenue, with much of that spent on document review, research, and drafting tasks that AI can now handle efficiently.

Legora competes with US-based Harvey (recently valued at $3 billion) and other legal AI platforms, but differentiates through its European regulatory expertise and multilingual capabilities. The company was previously known as Leya before rebranding in early 2025 during its US expansion push.

Poolside in Talks for $2 Billion Round Led by NVIDIA

Fund Raised: Up to $2 billion (in discussion)
Valuation: ~$12 billion (pre-money)
Lead Investor: NVIDIA ($500M committed upfront, potentially $1B total)

French AI coding startup Poolside is in advanced discussions to raise up to $2 billion at a pre-money valuation near $12 billion, with NVIDIA committing $500 million upfront and potentially $1 billion total depending on round structure. The deal would represent one of the largest single private investments in an AI startup this year.

Founded in 2023 by Jason Warner (former GitHub CTO) and Eiso Kant, Poolside builds AI assistants that help engineers generate code, debug projects, and automate repetitive development tasks. The company positions itself as an “AI pair programmer” that helps developers design, test, and deploy applications faster.

The platform provides natural language interfaces for code generation, explanation, and optimization. Developers describe what they want to build, and Poolside’s AI writes, explains, and optimizes the implementation—dramatically accelerating development cycles.

NVIDIA’s massive commitment reflects the chip giant’s strategy of backing companies that drive AI adoption and, consequently, GPU demand. The investment would follow NVIDIA’s pattern of strategic bets across the AI stack, from infrastructure (Crusoe, CoreWeave) to applications (Poolside, Harvey).

The size and structure of the deal highlight how AI infrastructure and platform companies are commanding blockbuster funding. Sequoia Capital described similar investments as bets on new computing interfaces—voice, code generation, and conversational AI represent the next evolution beyond typing and tapping.

If completed, the round would cement Poolside’s position as a major player in the increasingly competitive “AI for software engineering” market, alongside GitHub Copilot, Cursor (which recently hit $500M ARR), Replit, and others reshaping how code gets written.

Important Takeaway

This week’s $1.8+ billion in funding demonstrates AI’s evolution from foundation model development to specialized infrastructure and vertical applications. The pattern reveals three key themes:

1. Human-in-the-loop infrastructure is critical: Mercor’s $10 billion valuation validates that AI training requires high-quality human expertise at scale. As models grow more sophisticated, the bottleneck shifts from compute to data quality and expert feedback. Companies providing this layer are achieving massive valuations.

2. Inference infrastructure commands premium multiples: Fireworks AI’s $4 billion valuation at $280M ARR reflects market recognition that inference—not training—represents the next major infrastructure opportunity. As companies deploy AI in production, fast, cost-effective inference becomes mission-critical.

3. Vertical AI applications are maturing: From legal (Legora, $1.8B valuation) to video (Synthesia, $4B), specialized AI solutions for specific industries are achieving unicorn status by solving concrete business problems with measurable ROI. The “AI for everything” approach is giving way to deep vertical expertise.

The week also highlighted geographic diversification, with substantial rounds across the US, Europe, India, and emerging markets—signaling AI’s transformation from a Silicon Valley phenomenon to a global investment category.

Crusoe Energy Systems Powers AI Future with $1.38 Billion Series E at $10 Billion Valuation

Fund Raised: $1.38 billion
Investors: Valor Equity Partners (co-lead), Mubadala Capital (co-lead), NVIDIA, Fidelity Management, Founders Fund, Tiger Global, Salesforce Ventures, Franklin Templeton

Denver-based Crusoe Energy Systems closed a massive $1.38 billion Series E round, achieving a $10 billion valuation and positioning itself as one of the most capitalized players in AI infrastructure. Founded in 2018 by Chase Lochmiller (former hedge fund quant) and Cully Cavness, Crusoe has transformed from a cryptocurrency mining operation powered by stranded natural gas into a critical enabler of the AI revolution.

The company’s vertically integrated approach controls the entire stack—from energy generation to data center construction to cloud compute delivery. This model has allowed Crusoe to build faster than traditional operators, recently bringing online the first phase of its 1.2-gigawatt campus in Abilene, Texas, just one year after breaking ground. The facility, developed for OpenAI and Oracle as part of the Stargate project, represents the largest AI-focused data center deployment to date.

Crusoe differentiates itself through its energy-first strategy. The company sources power through an “all-of-the-above” mix including solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, and natural gas, often pairing on-site turbines with battery storage. In Iceland, Crusoe operates on 100% geothermal power through partner atNorth. The company reports a 45-gigawatt development pipeline—equivalent to powering eight to ten New York Cities.

As AI electricity demand rises faster than U.S. grid capacity, Crusoe’s expertise in managing stranded energy sources gives it a unique competitive edge. The company recently signed an agreement with GE Vernova to supply 29 aeroderivative gas turbines for flexible on-site generation. Crusoe Cloud, the company’s GPU-optimized compute platform, serves leading AI startups including Cursor, Decart, Fireworks, Odyssey, and Together AI, with bookings growing 5x in the first three quarters of 2025.

The funding brings Crusoe’s total equity raised to approximately $3.9 billion, with an additional $10 billion debt package arranged through JPMorgan and Blue Owl Capital, secured by Oracle’s 15-year Abilene lease.

Uniphore Secures $260 Million Series F from Tech Giants for Business AI Platform

Fund Raised: $260 million
Valuation: $2.5 billion
Investors: NVIDIA, AMD, Snowflake, Databricks Ventures (co-leads), NEA, March Capital, BNF Capital, National Grid Partners, Prosperity7 Ventures

Palo Alto-based Uniphore closed a remarkable $260 million Series F round led by four of the world’s top AI and data infrastructure companies—NVIDIA, AMD, Snowflake, and Databricks—marking an unprecedented validation of the company’s position in enterprise AI. Founded by Umesh Sachdev and Ravi Saraogi, Uniphore has evolved from call center intelligence to providing comprehensive Business AI infrastructure for over 2,000 global enterprises.

The company’s Business AI Cloud platform bridges the gap between consumer AI’s simplicity and enterprise requirements for security, governance, and scalability. The platform consists of four integrated layers: a composable data layer that connects to any application or cloud without moving data, a knowledge layer that structures enterprise information for AI consumption, a model layer that applies safety guardrails to third-party LLMs, and an agentic layer providing pre-built AI agents with orchestration capabilities.

This architecture allows enterprises to deploy AI agents across sales, marketing, services, HR, and operations without replacing existing systems. KPMG uses Uniphore’s Business AI Cloud to build AI agents for clients across banking, insurance, energy, and other regulated industries, improving efficiency in procurement, workforce management, and finance functions.

The Series F funding follows a period of aggressive expansion. In spring 2025, Uniphore launched its Business AI Cloud platform and completed acquisitions of ActionIQ (customer data platform) and Infoworks (data engineering). The company also announced acquisitions of Orby AI (agentic automation) and Autonom8 (low-code workflow design), bringing former DeepMind and Google talent into the organization.

The funding values Uniphore at $2.5 billion, bringing total capital raised to approximately $880 million.

Fal.ai Reaches $4 Billion Valuation with $250 Million Series D for Multimodal AI Infrastructure

Fund Raised: ~$250 million
Valuation: Over $4 billion
Investors: Kleiner Perkins (lead), Sequoia Capital (lead)

Redwood City-based Fal.ai secured approximately $250 million in late-stage funding just three months after its $125 million Series C, pushing its valuation above $4 billion and bringing total funding to nearly $450 million. Co-founded in 2021 by former Coinbase and Amazon engineers, Fal.ai positions itself as the “render network” for generative media, providing cloud infrastructure optimized for image, audio, and video AI models.

The company’s platform hosts thousands of high-end GPUs and serves hundreds of AI models, enabling developers to generate multimedia content at scale. As demand for non-text AI applications explodes, Fal.ai’s customer base has grown to include Adobe, Canva, and Shopify, highlighting its emergence as essential infrastructure for creative AI tools.

The rapid follow-on funding reflects the company’s explosive growth trajectory. Fal.ai is witnessing surging demand as enterprises move beyond text-based AI to implement visual and audio generation capabilities. The new capital will expand GPU cloud capacity, accelerate global development, and scale enterprise services.

Unlike foundation model companies that focus on building LLMs, Fal.ai provides the specialized infrastructure layer that makes multimodal AI applications practical and scalable for developers. This positioning in the AI stack—between model providers and end applications—has proven increasingly valuable as companies rush to implement generative AI features.

Sesame Raises $250 Million to Build Voice-First AI Smart Glasses

Fund Raised: $250 million
Total Funding: $307.6 million
Investors: Sequoia Capital (lead), Spark Capital (lead)

San Francisco-based Sesame secured $250 million in Series B funding while simultaneously launching its beta program, positioning the startup to compete with Meta and other tech giants in the emerging smart glasses market. Founded by Oculus co-founder and former CEO Brendan Iribe, former Ubiquity6 CTO Ankit Kumar, and former Meta Reality Labs director Ryan Brown, Sesame brings formidable hardware expertise to the wearable AI space.

The company is developing lightweight smart glasses integrated with advanced conversational AI that responds to natural speech. Unlike existing voice assistants that feel transactional, Sesame’s AI—featuring voices named “Maya” and “Miles”—captures the rhythm, emotion, and expressiveness of real human dialogue. When the company emerged from stealth in February, over one million people accessed the demos within weeks, generating more than five million minutes of conversation.

Sesame’s founding team reads like an Oculus reunion. Beyond the three founders, the roster includes Oculus co-founder Nate Mitchell as Chief Product Officer, former Oculus and Fitbit COO Hans Hartmann managing operations, and longtime Facebook and Meta executive Angela Gayles. This hardware execution experience matters enormously in a space where Amazon’s Echo Frames flopped and Google Glass became a cautionary tale.

The beta launch strategy reveals Sesame’s confidence in their technology. Starting October 21, select iOS users can access an early version of the AI companion through a dedicated app. The company also released its base AI model, CSM-1B, a 1-billion-parameter model available under an Apache 2.0 license for commercial use.

Sequoia Capital described the investment as a bet on voice becoming the next dominant computing interface, following the evolution from typing to tapping. “Sesame’s conversational layer felt different. It doesn’t just translate LLM output into audio—it generates speech directly, capturing the rhythm, emotion, and expressiveness of real dialogue.”

Moniepoint Closes $200 Million Series C to Scale African Fintech Leadership

Fund Raised: $200 million (including $90 million extension)
Valuation: Over $1 billion (unicorn status maintained)
Investors: Development Partners International (lead), LeapFrog Investments, Google Africa Investment Fund, Visa, International Finance Corporation, Proparco, Swedfund, Verod Capital Management, Lightrock, Alder Tree Investments

Nigerian fintech Moniepoint closed its Series C round at $200 million after raising an additional $90 million extension, marking one of Africa’s largest fintech fundraises in 2025. Founded in 2015 by Tosin Eniolorunda and Felix Ike as TeamApt, Moniepoint has evolved from building payment infrastructure for banks into a comprehensive financial platform serving over 10 million active customers.

What sets Moniepoint apart from other African fintech unicorns is its profitability. The company claims to be the first African fintech to achieve profitability at unicorn scale while maintaining hypergrowth—processing over $250 billion in digital payments annually with revenue growing at over 150% CAGR. This combination of scale, growth, and profitability makes it an outlier in the African fintech ecosystem.

Moniepoint initially gained recognition through its agency banking network, bringing financial services to millions of underserved Nigerians. The company has since expanded into business and personal banking, credit, cross-border payments, and business management tools. Recent product launches include MonieWorld, a remittance solution targeting the African diaspora in the United Kingdom, and an integrated payment and bookkeeping platform for MSMEs.

The company processes 1 billion transactions monthly worth $22 billion—a 25% increase in just three months following its initial Series C close in October 2024. This momentum demonstrates the massive opportunity in Africa’s digital payments landscape, where cash remains predominant and traditional banks underserve small businesses.

Visa’s participation is particularly notable as the global payments giant deepens its involvement with Africa’s leading fintechs. Beyond Moniepoint, Visa has backed Interswitch, Paystack, and Flutterwave, while launching a fintech accelerator program across the continent.

The fresh capital will support Moniepoint’s expansion into at least five African countries over the next 18-24 months, starting with Kenya, while strengthening its UK operations. Despite reporting a $1.2 million loss in its first year of UK operations, the company remains well-positioned with backing from global investors.

OpenEvidence Raises $200 Million at $6 Billion Valuation for Clinical AI

Fund Raised: $200 million
Valuation: $6 billion
Investors: GV (Google Ventures) (lead)

Boston and Miami-based OpenEvidence secured $200 million in Series C funding at a reported $6 billion valuation—a remarkable 71% increase from its $3.5 billion valuation just three months earlier when it raised $210 million. The AI-powered clinical decision support platform, often nicknamed “ChatGPT for doctors,” helps clinicians quickly access medical knowledge trained on journals like JAMA to improve diagnoses and patient care.

The rapid back-to-back fundraising at escalating valuations reflects urgent demand for AI tools that can handle the complexity of medical decision-making while maintaining accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations. OpenEvidence’s platform allows physicians to query medical literature, treatment guidelines, and clinical protocols using natural language, dramatically reducing the time spent researching patient cases.

The healthcare AI market has exploded as medical professionals face information overload—with thousands of new studies published weekly—while managing increasing patient loads. OpenEvidence’s specialized training on peer-reviewed medical literature differentiates it from general-purpose AI assistants that may hallucinate or provide inaccurate medical information.

GV’s leadership in the round signals Google’s continued commitment to healthcare AI applications, building on investments across the digital health ecosystem. The funding will accelerate OpenEvidence’s product development, expand its training data to cover more medical specialties, and scale its go-to-market efforts across hospital systems and medical practices.

LangChain Achieves Unicorn Status with $125 Million Series B

Fund Raised: $125 million
Valuation: $1.25 billion
Investors: IVP (lead), Sequoia, Benchmark, CapitalG, Sapphire Ventures, ServiceNow Ventures, Workday Ventures, Cisco Investments, Datadog, Databricks, Frontline

San Francisco-based LangChain, one of the earliest breakout startups of the generative AI era, announced a $125 million Series B at a $1.25 billion valuation, achieving unicorn status. Founded by Harrison Chase and Ankush Gola, LangChain created an eponymous open-source framework that became essential infrastructure for connecting AI applications to real-time data.

When large language models first emerged, they couldn’t access real-time information or perform actions like searching the web, calling APIs, or interacting with databases. LangChain’s framework solved this pressing problem, and developer adoption skyrocketed. The company raised a $10 million seed led by Benchmark in April 2023 and a $25 million Series A in 2024 at a $200 million valuation.

The market has grown increasingly crowded with competitors like LlamaIndex and Haystack, while OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google now provide built-in capabilities that were once LangChain’s differentiators. However, the company has evolved beyond its initial framework to build multiple products that enterprises need for production AI deployments.

Anrok Closes $55 Million Series C to Automate Global Sales Tax Compliance

Fund Raised: $55 million
Investors: Sequoia Capital, Index Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners

San Francisco-based Anrok secured $55 million in Series C funding to scale its automated sales tax compliance platform globally. As businesses expand internationally and navigate increasingly complex tax jurisdictions, Anrok’s AI-powered system automatically determines tax obligations, calculates rates, and files returns across multiple countries.

The company solves a critical pain point for fast-growing technology companies. Traditional tax compliance requires dedicated finance teams monitoring regulatory changes across thousands of jurisdictions, manually calculating obligations, and filing returns. For companies selling digital products and services globally, this complexity multiplies exponentially.

Anrok’s platform integrates directly with billing systems, ERPs, and payment processors to automatically handle tax compliance end-to-end. The system continuously monitors regulatory changes across jurisdictions and adjusts calculations in real-time, reducing the risk of non-compliance penalties while freeing finance teams to focus on strategic work.

The Series C funding will support Anrok’s international expansion, particularly in European markets where digital services taxes and VAT regulations create significant complexity for U.S. companies. The company will also expand its product capabilities to cover additional tax types beyond sales tax, including indirect taxes and customs duties.

Findem Secures $51 Million to Transform AI-Powered Talent Acquisition

Fund Raised: $51 million ($36M Series C + $15M growth loan)
Investors: Silver Lake Waterman (lead), Wing Venture Capital, Harmony Capital, Four Rivers Group, JPMorgan (growth loan provider)

Redwood City-based Findem raised $51 million in combined equity and debt financing to expand its AI-powered talent acquisition platform. The company uses “3D talent data” compiled from trillions of data points to help enterprises identify and engage top candidates, differentiating itself from traditional recruiting tools that rely on resume keywords and LinkedIn profiles.

Founded in 2019, Findem has built proprietary datasets that map candidates’ skills, experience, and career trajectories in granular detail. The platform’s AI models predict candidate fit, likelihood to move, and compensation expectations, enabling recruiters to build more targeted pipelines and reduce time-to-hire.

The funding reflects growing demand for AI-native recruiting solutions as companies face talent shortages in competitive markets. Traditional recruiting workflows—posting jobs and waiting for applications—increasingly fail to surface the best candidates, who are often passive and not actively job searching.

Findem’s platform continuously scans and updates talent profiles, alerting recruiters when candidates become more likely to consider new opportunities based on career milestones, company events, or market changes. This proactive approach transforms recruiting from reactive application screening to strategic talent sourcing.

The $15 million growth loan from JPMorgan provides additional flexibility for customer acquisition and product development, while the $36 million Series C equity round, led by Silver Lake Waterman, will fuel expansion into new markets and customer segments.

Arbor Energy Raises $55 Million Series A for Next-Generation Clean Gas Turbines

Fund Raised: $55 million
Investors: Lowercarbon Capital (co-lead), Voyager Ventures (co-lead), Gigascale Capital, Marathon Petroleum

El Segundo, California-based Arbor Energy raised $55 million in Series A funding to develop its modular 25-100 MW carbon-free gas turbine called HALCYON. The company is building advanced oxy-combustion turbines that can run on fuels ranging from natural gas to biomass, targeting utility and industrial applications.

The funding will complete development of a 1 MW pilot system and support commercial development of the 25 MW HALCYON turbine. As data centers and AI compute demand places unprecedented stress on electrical grids, innovative power generation solutions like Arbor’s modular turbines could provide flexible, lower-carbon capacity to meet surging demand.

Marathon Petroleum’s strategic investment highlights how traditional energy companies are positioning themselves for the energy transition while supporting technologies that can provide reliable baseload power. The co-lead investment from Lowercarbon Capital and Voyager Ventures reflects growing VC interest in climate tech solutions that combine commercial viability with environmental impact.

Other Notable Rounds

Nexos AI raised €30 million ($32 million) in Series A funding to help enterprises adopt AI safely while maintaining data control and privacy.
Deel Scales Global Payroll Infrastructure with $300 Million Series E at $17.3 Billion Valuation

Fund Raised: $300 million
Investors: Ribbit Capital (lead), Andreessen Horowitz, Coatue

San Francisco-based Deel closed a $300 million Series E round at a $17.3 billion valuation, cementing its position as the dominant force in global payroll and compliance infrastructure. Co-founded by Alex Bouaziz (CEO) and Shuo Wang (CTO), the company has emerged as the go-to platform for companies hiring internationally, processing payroll across 150+ countries.

The funding round comes as Deel reported crossing the $100 million monthly revenue mark in September 2025, demonstrating explosive growth despite ongoing litigation with competitor Rippling. The company plans to use the capital for strategic acquisitions and to expand its native payroll services to over 100 countries by 2029.

Deel’s platform automates the complexity of international hiring, managing everything from local labor law compliance to multi-currency payments. The company serves over 35,000 businesses ranging from startups to Fortune 500 enterprises, processing billions in global payroll annually.

Despite the competitive landscape and legal challenges, investor confidence remains strong. The platform’s sticky revenue model—companies rarely switch payroll providers once embedded—combined with expanding international commerce creates a massive addressable market. Deel’s AI-powered compliance engine continuously monitors regulatory changes across jurisdictions, automatically adjusting contracts and payment structures to maintain legal compliance.

Upgrade Secures $165 Million Pre-IPO Round at $7.3 Billion Valuation

Fund Raised: $165 million
Investors: Neuberger Berman (lead), DST Global, Ribbit Capital

Consumer fintech Upgrade, co-founded by former LendingClub CEO Renaud Laplanche, raised $165 million in new funding as it prepares for a public offering within the next 12-18 months. The round was led by Neuberger Berman, whose head of specialty finance Peter Sterling joined Upgrade’s board.

The fresh capital values Upgrade at approximately $7.3 billion pre-money, representing a 21.7% premium over its previous valuation. The company plans to use the funding to strengthen its balance sheet ahead of its IPO and provide liquidity to team members.

Founded in 2017, Upgrade offers credit cards, personal loans, and buy-now-pay-later products to consumers, with a focus on credit-building features. The platform has disbursed over $42 billion to date and reported processing $1.4 billion in monthly volume. The company’s AI-driven underwriting models analyze thousands of data points beyond traditional credit scores, enabling it to serve customers often overlooked by traditional lenders.

The funding round reflects renewed investor appetite for proven fintech companies with clear paths to profitability. Upgrade’s diversified product suite and focus on responsible lending differentiate it in a crowded consumer credit market.

Reducto Raises $75 Million Series B to Power AI Document Intelligence

Fund Raised: $75 million
Investors: Andreessen Horowitz (lead), Benchmark, First Round Capital, BoxGroup, Y Combinator

San Francisco-based Reducto secured $75 million in Series B funding just five months after its $24.5 million Series A, bringing total funding to $108 million. Co-founded by CEO Adit Abraham and CTO Raunak Chowdhuri (both MIT graduates), Reducto has become the essential data ingestion layer for enterprise AI systems.

The company combines traditional optical character recognition (OCR) with modern Vision-Language Models (VLMs) to convert complex documents—PDFs, spreadsheets, scans, and slides—into clean, AI-ready data. This solves a critical bottleneck: most of the world’s valuable information is locked in formats that AI systems struggle to parse accurately.

Since the Series A, Reducto’s monthly processing volume has grown 6x, now handling nearly one billion pages monthly. Customers include AI-native startups like Harvey, Rogo, and Scale AI, as well as Fortune 10 enterprises and top-five global hedge funds. These organizations rely on Reducto for mission-critical workflows: converting PDFs with redlines for legal teams, extracting complex charts for financial due diligence, and processing medical records for healthcare decisions.

“Documents contain some of the most valuable data in most industries—from healthcare to finance to logistics,” said Abraham. “Yet until now, they’ve been a bottleneck for making AI useful for real enterprise use cases.”

The funding will accelerate model research, expand product capabilities, and scale adoption across both enterprise customers and next-generation AI teams. Reducto is introducing flexible pricing for startups, democratizing access to enterprise-grade document processing infrastructure.

Campfire Closes $65 Million Series B to Revolutionize Financial Operations

Fund Raised: $65 million
Investors: Andreessen Horowitz (lead), Accel

San Francisco-based Campfire raised $65 million in Series B funding just months after closing its Series A, bringing total capital to approximately $90 million. The AI-powered accounting startup is building what it calls a “Large Accounting Model”—a specialized AI system trained on financial workflows to automate enterprise financial operations.

Campfire’s platform transforms how finance teams handle month-end close, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliation, and financial reporting. Traditional ERP systems require extensive manual data entry and reconciliation. Campfire’s AI agents autonomously process transactions, match invoices, categorize expenses, and flag anomalies—dramatically reducing the time finance teams spend on repetitive tasks.

The company serves mid-market and enterprise customers who struggle with legacy accounting systems that weren’t designed for modern, distributed operations. Early customers report reducing month-end close time by 50-70% and catching errors that previously slipped through manual review.

The Series B funding will be used to expand Campfire’s AI capabilities, integrate with additional financial systems, and scale its go-to-market efforts. The company competes in a space where incumbents like SAP and Oracle have dominated for decades, but their legacy architectures make it difficult to embed modern AI natively.

CoMind Secures $60 Million for Non-Invasive Brain Monitoring Technology

Fund Raised: $60 million (Series A extension bringing total to $102.5 million)
Investors: Plural (lead), Angelini Ventures, Octopus Ventures, LocalGlobe

London-based CoMind raised $60 million to commercialize its breakthrough brain monitoring technology that eliminates the need for drilling into patients’ skulls. Founded by CEO James Dacombe, the company has developed CoMind One—a non-invasive headset that uses laser interferometry to continuously measure cerebral blood flow, intracranial pressure, and other critical brain health metrics.

Current brain monitoring methods require invasive procedures that carry a 15% complication rate. As a result, only 5% of the three million annual traumatic brain injury patients in the US receive intracranial pressure testing. CoMind’s technology aims to provide accurate data for the other 95% of patients.

The device transmits low-power laser light through the scalp and skull into brain tissue, using advanced optical sensing to measure multiple physiological parameters simultaneously. This non-invasive approach could transform brain monitoring from intensive care units to operating rooms and beyond.

CoMind plans to pursue FDA approval within the next two years, which would unlock access to the massive US ICU market. The company is also developing an AI platform that transforms sensor data into predictive insights, identifying complications early and personalizing treatment protocols.

“James is truly a generational founder,” said Julia Hawkins, General Partner at LocalGlobe. “We couldn’t be more excited to continue supporting them as they redefine how the brain is measured, and ultimately, how it’s treated.”

Zepto Lands $400 Million to Scale Quick-Commerce in India

Fund Raised: $400 million
Investors: CalPERS (lead), Avenir, Avra, Lightspeed, Glade Brook, The Stepstone Group, Nexus Venture Partners

Indian quick-commerce startup Zepto secured $400 million led by California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS), marking a major institutional bet on India’s rapidly growing on-demand delivery market. Founded by Stanford dropouts Aadit Palicha (CEO) and Kaivalya Vohra (CTO) when they were just 19 years old, Zepto promises grocery delivery in 10 minutes through a network of strategically located dark stores.

The funding will help Zepto expand its operations, turn more dark stores profitable, and compete with rivals Swiggy Instamart and BlinkIt. The company has rapidly scaled to hundreds of dark stores across major Indian cities, processing millions of orders monthly.

Zepto’s AI-powered demand prediction models optimize inventory placement, ensuring the right products are stocked in each micro-fulfillment center. The company’s logistics algorithms route deliveries efficiently, minimizing delivery time while maximizing order batching.

Notably, Chari became the first venture-backed Moroccan startup to receive a fintech operating license from the central bank, enabling it to expand financial services to small retailers across North Africa.

International Spotlight

LayerX (Japan) previously secured $100 million Series B led by Technology Cross Ventures, marking TCV’s first investment in a Japanese startup. The Tokyo-based AI SaaS company serves over 15,000 enterprise clients with its Bakuraku workflow automation platform for expense reporting, invoice processing, and back-office functions.

Important Takeaway

This week’s $2.4+ billion in AI funding demonstrates the market’s continued appetite for enterprise-grade AI infrastructure and vertical solutions. While mega-rounds to foundation model companies dominated earlier in 2025, October’s funding pattern shows capital flowing to companies solving specific operational problems with measurable ROI.

The emergence of specialized AI layers—document intelligence (Reducto), financial operations (Campfire), healthcare monitoring (CoMind)—signals that the infrastructure supporting AI applications has become as valuable as the models themselves. Companies like Deel and Upgrade raising pre-IPO rounds at multi-billion-dollar valuations indicate a maturing market where proven revenue models and paths to profitability matter more than pure innovation.

Notably, international markets are gaining momentum, with significant rounds in India (Zepto), Morocco (Chari), and continued strength in European biotech. The healthcare vertical attracted substantial capital across multiple companies (CoMind, Marble, Kailera, Adcytherix), reflecting investor conviction that AI can meaningfully improve patient outcomes and system efficiency.

As AI moves from experimental to operational, the companies securing funding are those demonstrating clear value propositions, defensible moats, and the ability to integrate seamlessly into existing enterprise workflows. The week’s funding activity underscores that we’re transitioning from “AI for AI’s sake” to AI as essential business infrastructure.

Reflection AI Secures $2 Billion Series B at $8 Billion Valuation

Fund Raised: $2 billion
Investors: Nvidia (NVentures), Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sequoia Capital, DST Global, Eric Schmidt’s Hillspire, Citi Ventures, B Capital, GIC, 1789 Capital

Brooklyn-based Reflection AI closed a massive $2 billion Series B round at an $8 billion valuation, a 15-fold increase from its $545 million valuation just seven months earlier. Founded in March 2024 by former Google DeepMind researchers Misha Laskin (CEO) and Ioannis Antonoglou, the startup is positioning itself as both an open-source alternative to closed frontier labs like OpenAI and Anthropic, and a Western counterpart to Chinese AI firms like DeepSeek.

Laskin led reward modeling for DeepMind’s Gemini project, while Antonoglou co-created AlphaGo, the AI system that defeated the world champion in Go. Their pedigree underpins Reflection’s pitch that elite AI talent can build frontier models outside established tech giants.

The company has built a large-scale LLM and reinforcement learning platform capable of training massive Mixture-of-Experts models at frontier scale. The 60-person team—comprising AI researchers and engineers from DeepMind and OpenAI has secured compute infrastructure to release its first frontier language model in early 2026, trained on tens of trillions of tokens.

Reflection’s open-source strategy centers on releasing model weights for public use while keeping datasets and training pipelines largely proprietary. Revenue will come from large enterprises building products on Reflection’s models and from governments developing sovereign AI systems. The company has identified what it calls “a scalable commercial model that aligns with our open intelligence strategy.”

The funding drew strong support from American technologists. David Sacks, the White House AI and Crypto Czar, posted: “It’s great to see more American open source AI models. A meaningful segment of the global market will prefer the cost, customizability, and control that open source offers. We want the U.S. to win this category too.”

Base Power Raises $1 Billion Series C to Transform Home Energy Storage

Fund Raised: $1 billion
Investors: Addition (lead), Trust Ventures, Valor Equity Partners, Thrive Capital, Lightspeed, Andreessen Horowitz, Ribbit Capital, CapitalG, Spark Capital, BOND, Lowercarbon Capital, Avenir, Glade Brook, Positive Sum, 1789 Capital

Austin-based Base Power closed a $1 billion Series C round to expand its distributed home battery network across the United States. The round values the company at $3 billion pre-money. Co-founded in 2023 by CEO Zach Dell and COO Justin Lopas, Base Power has deployed more than 100 megawatt-hours of residential storage in Texas in under two years, making it one of the country’s fastest-growing distributed energy companies.

Base Power leases batteries to homeowners, who pay between $695 and $995 upfront for 25-kilowatt-hour or 50-kilowatt-hour batteries—both significantly larger than competitors. The 25-kilowatt battery doubles a single Tesla Powerwall. The batteries can keep households powered for up to 48 hours. Customers pay a monthly fee of $19 or $29 and commit to buying electricity from Base Power for three years at 8.5 cents per kilowatt-hour plus monthly service charges.

Grid operators pay Base Power for power they receive from the batteries during peak demand periods, and these payments are passed to customers, helping offset power bills. The virtual power plant model turns homes into distributed energy resources that strengthen grid resilience while reducing costs.

The funding will accelerate Base Power’s first major battery manufacturing factory, currently under construction in downtown Austin at the site of the former Austin American-Statesman printing press. The company plans to build a second U.S. manufacturing facility as it scales domestic production capacity. Base Power intends to expand beyond Texas into additional states and eventually international markets.

n8n Hits $2.5 Billion Valuation with $180 Million Series C

Fund Raised: $180 million
Investors: Accel (lead), Meritech Capital, Redpoint Ventures, Evantic, Visionaries Club, NVentures (Nvidia), T.Capital (Deutsche Telekom), Sequoia Capital, HV Capital, Highland Europe, Felicis Ventures

Berlin-based n8n, founded in 2019 by Jan Oberhauser, secured $180 million in Series C funding at a $2.5 billion valuation seven months after its $60 million Series B. The workflow automation platform has emerged as the AI orchestration layer for enterprises, with more than 80% of workflows built on n8n now embedding AI agents.

n8n positions itself between two extremes in the agentic AI landscape. Some platforms put everything in AI’s hands—you write prompts and hope for results, with entire logic determined by model interpretation. Others require strict, rule-based routing that’s powerful for engineers who code every pathway, but impractical for business users who need rapid iteration. n8n combines the flexibility of code with the accessibility of no-code, letting teams build dynamic, intelligent workflows that adapt to changing business needs.

The company’s “fair-code” licensing model blends open-source principles with commercial viability. The platform connects hundreds of applications, automates complex business processes, and integrates AI models from multiple providers including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google—giving companies flexibility without ecosystem lock-in.

Annual recurring revenue has surged past $40 million, and revenue has grown tenfold in the past year. The company serves over 3,000 enterprise clients, including Vodafone, SoftBank, and SEAT. The funding will expand n8n’s engineering team, accelerate product development, and support international expansion, with the U.S. market now accounting for roughly half of users.

EvenUp Doubles Valuation to $2 Billion with $150 Million Series E

Fund Raised: $150 million
Investors: Bessemer Venture Partners (lead), REV (RELX Ventures), B Capital, SignalFire, Adams Street Partners, Premji Invest, Bain Capital Ventures, HarbourVest, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Broadlight Capital

San Francisco-based EvenUp, founded in 2019 by Rami Karabibar (CEO), Raymond Mieszaniec, and Saam Mashhad, raised $150 million in Series E funding at a valuation exceeding $2 billion, doubling in less than a year. The personal injury AI platform brings total capital raised to $385 million across four rounds in just 24 months, each preempted by investors.

EvenUp’s Claims Intelligence Platform, powered by its proprietary Piai model, is trained on hundreds of thousands of injury cases and millions of medical records. Unlike traditional tools, EvenUp’s AI acts proactively, drafting, reviewing, and strategizing at superhuman scale across the entire case lifecycle. The platform has helped secure over $10 billion in settlements and resolved cases totaling thousands of years of accelerated timelines.

Case volume on the platform nearly doubled in the past six months to 10,000 cases per week. The company serves more than 2,000 law firms, including 20% of the Top 100 U.S. personal injury firms. Annual recurring revenue has doubled year-over-year, with nearly 90% of new sales now coming from products launched in 2025.

EvenUp’s new Mirror Mode feature allows firms to upload a winning draft and instantly generate customized versions that match its tone, structure, and legal precision. One Ohio firm increased an initial settlement offer from $50,000 to $1.75 million using EvenUp’s Case Companion to dismantle defense arguments in real-time mediation. Another California firm scaled past $500 million in annual results with 70% year-over-year growth without increasing headcount.

The funding will expand EvenUp beyond contract review into the full scope of transactional work and scale go-to-market teams to capture more of the $1 trillion transactional legal services market.

Spellbook Raises $50 Million Series B at $350 Million Valuation

Fund Raised: $50 million
Investors: Khosla Ventures (lead, Keith Rabois), Threshold Ventures, Inovia Capital, Bling Capital, Moxxie Ventures, Path Ventures, Jean-Michel Lemieux

Toronto-based Spellbook, often described as “Cursor for contracts,” closed a $50 million Series B round led by Keith Rabois, Managing Director at Khosla Ventures. The round values the company at $350 million post-money and brings total funding to over $80 million. Rabois will join Spellbook’s board of directors.

Founded in 2022 by CEO Scott Stevenson and co-founders, Spellbook was the first company to launch a generative AI copilot for lawyers. Powered by OpenAI’s GPT-5, the platform is optimized for legal-specific approaches to contract law. The company has surpassed 10 million contracts reviewed, serving nearly 4,000 law firms and in-house legal teams across 80 countries, more customers than any comparable AI contract review product.

Customers include Nestlé, eBay, and law firm Kennedys. The company is on pace to triple revenue this year. Unlike competitors requiring multi-month enterprise rollouts, Spellbook works instantly within existing workflows—right in Microsoft Word.

The platform can connect with in-house document resources, including OneDrive and Dropbox, to ingest, analyze, and index personalized and teamwide contract language. This puts legal teams’ own deal history to work by finding past clauses already used by the firm that fit the current contract. With generative AI, it finds the right context to reveal appropriate clauses without manual keyword searches.

The funding will expand Spellbook beyond contract review into the full scope of transactional work, scale go-to-market teams, and enhance AI capabilities with deeper contract intelligence grounded in real-time market data.

Other Notable Rounds

HavocAI raised $85 million to scale production of its autonomous AI-driven military boats, retrofitting commercial vessels with proprietary autonomy software. Co-founded by former U.S. Navy officers in 2024, HavocAI has deployed over 20 robotic vessels for the U.S. Army, Navy, and allied forces including Poland.

Meanwhile secured $82 million in Series B funding co-led by Bain Capital Crypto and Haun Ventures to scale Bitcoin-denominated insurance and annuity products. The Bermuda-based startup is regulated and issues all premiums and claims in Bitcoin, bringing total 2025 funding to $122 million.

AI2 Incubator closed an $80 million third fund to back the next generation of AI startups emerging from the Allen Institute for AI.

Juicebox raised $36 million total ($30 million Series A led by Sequoia Capital) to expand its AI recruiting platform PeopleGPT. The San Francisco startup now serves over 2,500 companies and has surpassed $10 million in annual recurring revenue with just a dozen employees.

Routefusion closed $26.5 million in Series A funding led by PeakSpan Capital to expand its cross-border payments platform. The Austin-based fintech provides a unified API that lets businesses embed international banking services, multi-currency accounts, and forex directly into their products.

Knapsack secured $10 million in Series A funding to expand its intelligent product design platform for engineering teams building AI-first applications.

Zingage raised $10 million in seed funding led by Bessemer Venture Partners to automate home healthcare logistics using AI agents that handle caregiver scheduling, patient emergencies, and compliance paperwork.

Burnt landed $3.8 million in seed funding led by Penny Jar Capital (Stephen Curry’s venture firm) to modernize the food supply chain with its AI-powered operating system. The platform already handles over $10 million in orders monthly for specialty food distributors.

Civilized AI announced $2 million in seed funding led by Benson Capital to expand its AI platform for municipal services and GovTech applications.

International Spotlight

LayerX (Japan) secured $100 million Series B led by Technology Cross Ventures, marking TCV’s first investment in a Japanese startup. The Tokyo-based AI SaaS company serves over 15,000 enterprise clients with its Bakuraku workflow automation platform.

Lexroom (Italy) raised $15 million in Series A funding led by Base10 Partners to scale its generative AI platform for European legal teams. Founded in 2023, the startup uses AI models trained on localized European legal data to help firms research case law and draft complex documents across multiple jurisdictions.

Important Takeaway

This week’s $4.1+ billion in AI funding represents a decisive shift toward practical implementation over pure innovation. Reflection AI’s $2 billion round signals that open-source superintelligence has become a strategic priority for the U.S. tech ecosystem, with government officials publicly championing American open models to compete globally. Meanwhile, established categories like legal tech and energy infrastructure attracted massive growth capital, with EvenUp, Spellbook, and Base Power collectively raising $1.2 billion to transform trillion-dollar industries. The emergence of specialized AI orchestration tools like n8n at a $2.5 billion valuation demonstrates that the infrastructure layer connecting AI models to business workflows has become as valuable as the models themselves. Across 15+ deals spanning infrastructure, applications, and vertical AI solutions, the week underscored that capital continues flowing to companies solving real enterprise problems with measurable ROI—not just building foundation models.

Cerebras Systems Secures $1.1 Billion Series G at $8.1 Billion Valuation

Fund Raised: $1.1 billion
Investors: Fidelity Management & Research (lead), Atreides Management (lead), Tiger Global, Valor Equity Partners, 1789 Capital, Altimeter Capital, Alpha Wave, Benchmark

Sunnyvale-based Cerebras Systems closed an oversubscribed $1.1 billion Series G round just days after withdrawing its long-planned IPO filing. Founded in 2016 by Andrew Feldman (CEO), the company’s flagship Wafer Scale Engine 3 (WSE-3) chip is 56 times larger than the biggest GPU, packing 900,000 AI cores and 4 trillion transistors on a single wafer-scale processor.

Cerebras claims inference speeds more than 20 times faster than competing GPUs by eliminating the complex interconnects required in traditional GPU clusters. The wafer-scale architecture places entire AI models and memory on a single chip, avoiding memory bandwidth bottlenecks. The company serves trillions of tokens monthly through its cloud, on-premise deployments, and partner platforms.

In 2025, major customers including AWS, Meta, IBM, Mistral AI, Cognition, AlphaSense, and Notion have adopted Cerebras, joining enterprise and government clients like GlaxoSmithKline, Mayo Clinic, the US Department of Energy, and the US Department of Defense. On Hugging Face, Cerebras is the number one inference provider with over 5 million monthly requests.

The funding will expand Cerebras’ technology portfolio with continued innovations in AI processor design, packaging, and supercomputer systems, while scaling US manufacturing capacity and data center infrastructure. The company opened five new data centers in 2025 across Dallas, Oklahoma City, and Santa Clara, with additional facilities planned for Montreal and Europe.

Vercel Raises $300 Million Series F at $9.3 Billion Valuation

Fund Raised: $300 million
Investors: Accel (co-lead), GIC (co-lead), BlackRock, StepStone, Khosla Ventures, Schroders, Adams Street Partners, General Catalyst, GV, Notable Capital, Salesforce Ventures, Tiger Global

San Francisco-based Vercel, founded in 2015 by Guillermo Rauch (CEO), secured $300 million in oversubscribed Series F funding to scale its AI Cloud platform. The company also launched a $300 million secondary tender offer for employees and early investors, closing in November.

Vercel serves as the AI-native infrastructure powering companies like Anthropic, OpenAI, PayPal, Square, WPP, Nike, Walmart, Target, Hulu, and AT&T. The platform’s user base doubled in the past year while revenue surged 82% year-over-year. Over 3.5 million developers now use v0, Vercel’s AI development agent that transforms natural language prompts into full-stack applications.

The company strengthened its executive team with key hires including Jeanne Grosser (former Stripe Chief Business Officer) as COO, Keith Messick (former Redis CMO) as CMO, Aparna Sinha (former Capital One Head of Enterprise AI/ML) as SVP Product, and Talha Tariq (former IBM CTO Security) as CTO Security.

Vercel is launching v0 Mobile in October, enabling developers to build applications using voice prompts and camera input on the go. The mobile app syncs with existing v0 chats and delivers push notifications for completed builds, supporting the emerging trend of development ideation happening outside traditional office hours.

Periodic Labs Emerges from Stealth with $300 Million Seed Round
